Parents Upset T.I. Spoke To Kids

Last month, T.I. visited Woodland Middle School in Henry County, GA . Unfortunately, not everyone was happy he was there. According to WSBTV, several parents are upset that the rapper was featured as a guest speaker. One of the parents wrote an email letter to the principal, Dr. Terry Oatts stating:

“In the future, if T.I. or any other convicted felon needs to perform community service, ask for parental permission to allow our children to be exposed to these questionable individuals,”

In the rapper’s defense, Oatts responded:

“I thought about asking a guy who snorted cocaine and got arrested for DUI when he was 30 to come and speak to our kids, but President George W. Bush was not available.”

Does he know Scientific Notation? Does he know Coordinate Algebra or Cartesian mathematics? Can he turn a fraction into a decimal?

Fuck Outta The damn classroom Tip. Make a smash and leave parenting to parents.

ether x 10. well executed comeback right there.

  13. Dashing says:

    @ truth will out,

I don’t even know why I’m responding to ignorance but…

Obviously dude is not going there to teach these kids math. What you and those parents are too foolish to understand is that hearing from T.I. will likely have more of an impact on those kids than hearing from a nuclear physicist, brain surgeon, mathematician etc…All he’s going to do is encourage kids to stay out of gangs, do their homework, and not to make the same mistakes that he made.

  14. pissed says:

Parents are fukkin idiots these days. There’s a lot worse things that there kids see on tv & on the internet than having a man who can use his celebrity status to influence them to do good & learn from his mistakes. Ass backwards.

  15. Drucifer says:

That George bush comment says it all……..End of Discussion

  16. HipHopper says:

Don’t really give a damn they asked TI to speak. But, if I was a father in that school, I’d definitely wanna who is fuck is speaking wit my kids. Just my 2 cents.

  17. Post no post says:

Dam thats funny has hell..when we was in school they would bring in the og ex cons…on some scared staright shit lol..

  18. jesus says:

oh please,in my middle school years, nwa appeared 1 day as a guest speaker also

  19. TommiTMX says:

Hmm…sure when I have kids I’ll generally want to know who is talking to them, but at the same time shouldn’t you have some trust that the Headmaster/Principal (sorry from the UK =P) will not let random people speak to their kids.

What does it matter if he’s a convicted felon? As long as he’s there to use his celebrity status to try and influence kids to working hard to achieve a goal (which he’s obviously done to have more money than most people posting above agreeing with the random parent) then what the hell is the problem?

“Obviously dude is not going there to teach these kids math. What you and those parents are too foolish to understand is that hearing from T.I. will likely have more of an impact on those kids than hearing from a nuclear physicist, brain surgeon, mathematician etc…All he’s going to do is encourage kids to stay out of gangs, do their homework, and not to make the same mistakes that he made.” – Dashing (posted above)

This! See, it’s not hard to understand, celebrities speaking to kids has a much larger impact than some genius in a field of science because they generally don’t care what they have to say.

It’s like getting an Astronaut/Pilot to speak to kids instead of the scientists behind the engineering and creation of the Aircraft.

As to the people talking about the failing education system, are you sure that’s purely based on what schools are teaching kids? Just a thought 😉 because I know my parents always supported me through any career path of my choosing reminding me to do the best I can and that’s all I can do, I managed to fly through all exams and am currently working through University. On the other hand, several people in the same class, with the same teachers didn’t pay attention and just talked for the entirety of the lessons…they are now in a dead end job moaning about how they get no support from the government. Sure things are different over in the states, but cultures aren’t too different, parents teach children discipline and respect (not for elders as such) but for their superiors (a teacher is in a hierarchical manner their superior) then they will pay attention and do the best they can…if a parent lets the child do as they wish, then the same will happen in school.

Ok rant over…oh and the response from the Headmaster/Principal…priceless!

  20. Rabb says:

That comeback was pathetically ignorant. Yeah, woo hoo, he just shit on the parent of one of the students he over sees, he’s such a bad ass. Let’s all root for him. No, that’s not what a fucking principle should do, I don’t care who you are. Instead of being a professional individual in a position to ease the concerns of young parents, this asshole decided to get sarcastic. I hope he’s fired. I hope O’Rielly (as much as I dislike him) DOES bring this up so he does get fired.

And hate on president Bush all you want, or think he was stupid because he wasn’t a good public speaker, but the mother fucker went to Harvard and earned an MBA (no other president has). He ran the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and had arguably more responsibilities in eight years than that dimwit principle AND T.I. will ever have in two life times. Did he make mistakes? Absolutely.

So fuck all you idiots defending this shithead principle who wanted to dick ride T.I. because he’s a rapper.

  21. Big Mak says:

It makes me laugh. T.i & Wayne both get jail time for simply ” Having Guns ” and everybody thinks their gangsta killers. Its pathetic, all for image. Those two are about as gangsta as Elmo.

  22. llll says:

LOL @ Oatts response….damn he really hit them with the best shot!!

  26. THE 0811 says:

    @ truth will out
i suppose you would have no problem if bill o’reilly, glenn beck, or rush limbaugh spoke to the kids, huh? i guess it’s ok for hate mongerers and pill poppin’ drug addicts but not for a guy who says i messed up and don’t be like me.

  27. illaDeuce says:

lmfaooo the principal went in!!!! REESPECTS

  28. King JuggaNott says:

The comments in here makes me wonder who has fucking sense. The parent shouldn’t know who is speaking to their kids? They have a right to disagree and NOT have their kids attend. What did George Bush have to do with anything? Fucking Dumb asses.
