Clipse Announce Solo Albums

At the 4:08 mark of the Clipse’s performance, the duo announce that they plan on dropping solo discs. Hopefully whenever that day comes, fans actually buy the album instead of talking about it on the ‘net.

  1. Ac@pella! says:

I’m 1st, so I’ll get out what everyone will be thinking to say when they comment on here: Pusha’s will sell more…

  2. Concise says:

Of course nobody’s gonna buy their solo albums…nobody has bought their group albums since Bush’s first term…hell, the Clipse have only ever been hot for the 4 or 5 months Grindin was popping back in like the summer of ’02…they’re nobodies

  3. Cory says:

^ they may be nobodies, but they make some really good music

  4. Gus says:

    ^second cory

they are the pure underground of hip-hop but they deserve much more attention. they’re labels marketing is the issue.

  5. ineedm0ney says:

I have bought all 3 of their albums. but i dont really see why they would go solo. thats a dumb move

  6. Concise says:

They ain’t no damn pure underground hip hop…lol, everybody that flops isn’t then magically all of a sudden “underground heroes”…let’s call them what they are, failed major label acts…they’ve had the Neptunes in their corners supplying them with beats since Lord Willin’…which went platinum back then…but since then, people just stopped caring…hell, this last album’s first single featured Kanye…one of the biggest artists in the world…underground my ass

  7. LikeJordan45 says:

It’s a shame, like Acapella said the only one I’ll be checking for is Pusha Ton’s but I’m glad to hear this news none the less. Hopefully this culminates in more Clipse music after they try it though

  8. pissed says:

Pusha should have dropped a solo a long time ago. At this point & after that last album, theymight wanna drop some solo mixtapes or freestyles first.

  9. raul says:

Their good artist made 3 quality albums but if no one s buying the group album why would anyone buy a solo……….At this point they should be on a major anyway!!

  10. J.C says:

Yeh Pusha T stands out but any Clipse fan needs to go back in the archives and check for Malice’s lyrics – son gets it in! There’s a kinda gospel like slant to his sh!t!

  11. Smear says:

Pusha just burnt dWayne on thet Jeezy ILLN joint.
    2DopeBoys indeed

  12. Nina says:

I still don’t get how they went from double plat to only existing online in less than 5 years. I say just call it a day at this point. Group or solo projects. Their “fans” won’t support.

  13. ThugMagnificent says:

They both sound the same. Pusha will sell 10 copies Malice will sell 8.

  14. King JuggaNott says:

I knew this was coming. Listening to the “til the casket drops” you can see that they were seeing things differently. Both coming from different directions…but they still made a nice cd. Malice seems like he got saved and he’s trying to speak gems…Pusha still wants to let the D’boy talk fly.

Wonder if it has anything to do with their manager or whatever getting time for drugs.

  15. Reality Check says:

You can hear the bitterness and disappointment about having a failed career in Pusha ALL THE TIME…dude has been crying about dudes like Tip and Wayne making their marks as legends of their era for YEARS now…i hear him taking little subliminal shots at Wayne on jeezy’s mixtape, and I just feel embarrassed for him…he wasn’t supposed to turn into one those bum ass Mad Rapper types carrying around the anger of years worth of flopping, jealous at the next man’s success and status in the game…it’s just a bad look

  16. Cudder says:

Bottom line regardless of sales. Every album they made has been good. Even theyre most recent mixtape “Road to” was fire. Everyone is talking about how they are bitter and talk as if they themselves got the game figured out. I think they do spit it better than 90 percent of them rappers out there. So many of yall get sucked in to quantity and disregard the quality.

  17. CantGetRight says:

I kno im not in the majority wen I say this but ummm
    Malice> Pusha
    IMO!!
Malice be saying sum shit man! Im just now catching on to the “Saturday night fever” line on “popeyes”. He a deep dude.

  18. Dick Chaney says:

Yeah, I have to agree ^^^ Malice is a little better with the flow to ME. I think Pusha is dope, don’t get me wrong…I just feel Malice more I guess. Thanks for reading.

  19. 20. B. Digital says:

Pusha T’s solo album should have dropped at least 2 years ago.. But for the record, I bought the last 2 albums and they were good.

  21. Post no billz says:

I aint hating but i cant tell the difference between pusha n malice.. They sound identical.. I wanna say pusha has better rhymes but i cant tell… Jus bein real..

  22. Torres says:

Pusha got better flow more charisma malice got well thought out punchlines.

  23. mac DIESEL says:

IT’S A HIT OR MISS WIT THESE NIGGAS!!!! THEIR INCONSISTENTCY HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE DOWNFALL!!!! THEY PUT OUT A DECENT SONG THEN THEY FOLLW IT UP WIT A WACK SONG!!!! SO IT’S HARD FOR ME TO GET INTO THEIR MUSIC!!!! IT’S LIKE THEY STILL HAVE NO DIRECTION IN WUT THEY WANT TO BE OR GO AS A GROUP!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  24. […] up with Pusha T, one-half of the Clipse, to talk about laying down a verse for Mr. 103’s mixtape, upcoming Clipse solo albums, and his surprising pick in VIBE’s Greatest Producer of All Time tournament. —Chris […]

  25. CHC says:

THE NEPTUNES MURDERED THEIR CAREER W/ THOSE WACK AZZ OUT DATED BEATS, THAT DON’T FIT THE CLIPSE FLOW OR STYLE. THEY ALWAYS OUTSHINED THE BEATS, IT’S A WONDER THEY SOLD AS WELL AS THEY DID. AND I BLAME THE CLIPSE FOR TRYING TO BE SO LOYAL INSTEAD OF REACHING OUT FOR BETTER PRODUCTION.

MALICE IS EASILY THE MOST LYRICAL AND INTROSPECTIVE OF THE 2 AND I FEEL WOULD MAKE A BETTER, WELL ROUNDED ALBUM.

STRICTLY LYRICALLY THEY ARE EASILY TOP 10 IN THE GAME NOW, ESPECIALLY MALICE.

    LOVE BOTH THESE NINJA’S!!
