According to Infographic, an artist only makes 94 cents for an album that sells from $9.99 (the label makes $6.29 and iTunes keeps the difference). Artists’ money comes from touring, endorsements, merchandising, etc. Artists might as well give away their music, as promotion, so they can sell more tickets to their tours. But even so a hacker still doesn’t have the right to steal unfinished tracks and release them, only the artist should be able to release his/her work, when they are ready. Don’t get me wrong as a fan I love it but I know its wrong. So if you really want to support the artist go to their live shows.
