Rick Ross has a thing for gangsters. In fact, his upcoming mixtape’s named after Albert Anastasia and album (Teflon Don) stems from John Gotti’s alias. Ross recently revealed that the moniker was also his former stage name. But despite the praise Gotti’s received (especially in rap songs), he admitted in his final years that he didn’t want those type of fans and blamed society’s downward spiral on “coons and niggers“. But Ross is undeterred. In the final clip below, he explains to Rap Radar the reasoning behind the title.

Why it’s not all about the music with Ross: Almost every rapper you can mention off the top of your head, has someway or in some form tryed or DID incoporate their lives into the music. in THIS game, Rap that is, being anything from outside of the norm’ is almost forbidden, like taboo. You can’t have a occupation as a CO, a judge, a prosecutor, etc. I mean, at one point if you had a job prior to rap, that happened to be in a pizza parlor, you would immediately be ousted. Now fast-forward to 2010. You have rappers named Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, etc. The list goes on forever, and everybody is so called “Real”, or “Trappin”, something along them lines. Now if someone happens to dig up some dirt on these “real – trappers”, and they prove to not be as 100% as they’ve mentioned, then it’s an immediate court summon issued for you to either denounce or defend this character you’ve created, which is ultimately YOU. When you lie under oath, it’s not a nice thing to do in the hiphop world, ya know? Music is only 20% of these musicians focus. 50% goes to crafting this special character that doesn’t get played out in a few years (Lil Jon), the other 30% is just business oriented. The protocol is different now my friend, and Ross is no exception to the guilloutine. That nigga lied about something so simple, and actually looking at it, he could’ve been a fuckin pioneer and kept it real. I guarentee 90% of rappers would have been rejoicing – imagine that, all these rappers coming out and saying yeah, I used to clean fish tanks. Or yea I picked up dirty dog shit for a living – instead, this coon burger lies to the world, ultimately his fans.
