Eminem’s Near Death Experience

[vodpod id=Video.3837726&w=425&h=350&fv=]

Before rocking the Staples Center in L.A. last night, Eminem spoke to CNN’s Showbiz Tonight on how his drug addiction nearly led to him kicking the bucket.

“It took me awhile to admit I actually did have a problem,” the musician said. “In the hip-hop world that I live in, it can be mistaken for weakness and the last thing you want to do in hip-hop is admit that you’re weak. But if I didn’t admit I was weak with this certain thing I was going to die.”

  15. Dman says:

damn its crazy lookin back how he started out a rap beast fell into depression n drugs round 06 pulled through n came back n killed it just as good as back then with recovery…damn

  16. Drucifer says:

Em’s career has definatly been a roller coaster, just shows you how talented he is, usually when an artist goes through all that, If there lucky enough to survive, they tell you aout it on their “Behind the Music” special because there career is in shambles………Em went through the ups and downs and still just released a platinum single and a highly anticipated album thats already #2 on Itunes from pre-order sales……….Very Rare, I hope he’s grateful for it because it dont happen for very many Artists period

Like with actors, Robert Downey Jr is that rare actor who got all drugged out and came back with a relevant career, most wind up like christian slater, lol

  17. RapMusic23 says:

  23. Toya says:

It’s great that Em is one the people lucky enough to make it out the other end of their addiction. Hopefully (I’m sure), the clarity has brought some peace to his life. I really hope stays on the right path because there are very few people that have a gift like his. …

… Now when will the interviewers stop drilling Em with all the addiction talk and get back to the music? Sure it was a good topic when Relapse came out because the album and the addiction suited each other. But now that’s old news (especially for the stans).

  24. Shadddyyy says:
