Wyclef Speaks On Running For President

Wyclef will officially announce his candidacy for President of Haiti later tonight on Larry King Live. In an interview for TIME, Dr. Jean spoke on his decision to get into politics.
“If not for the earthquake, I probably would have waited another 10 years before doing this,” Jean says. “The quake drove home to me that Haiti can’t wait another 10 years for us to bring it into the 21st century.” Jean sees no contradiction between his life as an artist and his ambitions as a politician. “If I can’t take five years out to serve my country as President,” he argues, “then everything I’ve been singing about, like equal rights, doesn’t mean anything.”

Wyclef running for President can’t be any worse than whats happening to those people there now. The help all of those millions of dollars gave them were a few thousand white plastic tents and no work, as usual. Where did all the millions go? ask the UN. I think Wyclef Jean really cares about these people, all of the Presidents that have been put in there are under other peoples control, ours included. It would be nice ot have one of Haitis own run for President, win and actually do something for those people, they have been living like they dont’ exist for years, its about time some tried ot help them, for realz. The minute Wyclef listens to all of the people who want to help him run the countrry he is in trouble, I hope he doesn’t fall for that. I wish him luck .He just needs to dtay focused and get those jobs going, with all of that destruction there it seems ot me they will need consturction workers, painters, clean up crew, cooks to feed these workers, there are jobs to be made and houses ot build, without the Un’s help b uilding homes nd buildings that are not safe, even their own headquarters collapsed from cheap building materials. If there is anything I can do to help wyclef I hope he will email me. This place could be a paradise for very little money , it could also be part fishing village and part tourist attraction with all of those lovely beaches. I see good things coming if they can get honest help with it. and honest use of the money they were sent and will be sent. They can only take out a President that was not put in by the people.
