Ron Isley Speaks On Getting Sampled

Now that Ron Isley’s out of jail, he recently appeared on the All Out Show with Rude Jude and Lord Sear. He spoke on rappers sampling his music and cited Ice Cube’s “It Was A Good Day” as his favorite. This might require a lil’ diggin, but there was an article in Scratch magazine where Ron discussed this subject. He also spoke on Shade 45 about his new single “They Don’t Make It Like That No More” and relationship with Jimi Hendrix.

Not to be a square or nothing but on the real, I’d think Rude Jude & Lord Sear would speak to Ron Isley with a little more respect. Cussin’ every 5 secs, like they talking to they homeboy from across the street…it’s RON ISLEY, damnit. Probably the same age as their own fathers.

  11. Where's the Respect?? says:

Maybe it’s my respect for music, or maybe it’s my genuine passion for soul samples and the artist’s who created them….I see these artists as God’s and I know Hip-Hop wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the legends of soul music. That being said, Were These Cats High & Drunk?! I stopped listening to Part 1 about 2 mins into the interview. Very, Very Incorrect and Disrespectful. One of the worse interviews I have ever heard.

    Damn shame…

Yes, Ron Isley is a legend but we all know how they get down on the All Out Show…if I wanna hear a regular stuffy interview I’ll listen to Tom Joyner. (No shade to Tom I love his show).

  16. Sho Nuff says:

    ^^^^^^

  17. rude jude says:

You may have been offended but Ron Isley had a great time with us, he told us so, he sat there and kicked it with us after the shit was over. Relax. The way I see it if he’s having fun and we’re having fun and we’re schooling some of these youngsters about The Isley Brothers’ contribution to hip hop then we did our job.
