    ^^^

I’ve figured out why people don’t like Nas & don’t listen to him… He is the complete opposite of what today’s music stands for. Being intelligent in Rap in 2010 = Boring, not fun, preachy…. Yet Nas is exactly what we need!!! I said it years and years ago… and I still say it to this day…. In 20,30 years, Nas will be that guy we can all look back on & say WOW… he stood the test of time, his catalogue was ahead of it’s time… that guy is a fuckin Genius!!! Nas is so far ahead of his time it’s crazy!!!

  62. QUEENZ says:

    @ Morgan Freeman

are you fucking retarded? both HHID and Untitled debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and both went gold with no radio or video play. DR was practically a reggae album, a fucking amazing one and also got now no play on radio or tv. So when you say ‘add that up and the guy barely went gold” you make no sense, you’re talking first week sales like thats that end all be all. Like niggas stop counting after 7 days. If he’s so irrelevant why the fuck are you commenting on him. every album before HHID went Platinum and MultiPlatinum but you conveniently left those out, ALL 7 of them!!! can you wrap your head around that consistency? How many MCs do you know alive with that longevity? sure some niggas will come sell a boat load of records like 50 but you can’t mention his name among the greats. Nas said it best. ‘I SEEN IT ALL, DONE IT ALL, MOST OF Y’ALL A POP FOR A MINUTE, SPIT A SENTENCE THEN THE GAME’LL GET RID OF Y’ALL” Em obviously isn’t going away, Jay has proven himself, we all see where Rakim is at this point of his career (if you still wanna call it that, no disrespect, im just calling a spade a spade), No one knows where Pac or Big would be now if they were still alive, but Nas has been doing it since 94’ and he’s still feared, still razor sharp, still doing his numbers, still going against the grain with no airplay cuz these fucking radio stations are scared to play that real shit. He and Jay have done what Pac and Big didn’t get a chance to. Stop fucking discrediting Nas, niggas act like his debut album was HHID. smh. you’re the reason the game is so fucked up and oversaturated with that bullshit.

  82. QUEENZ says:

    @ Nasir Jones

lmao, yo nas is one of my idols but i can’t front, the Columbia Records really did a number on this Nastradamus video. Good grief, its like Pac’s California Love video but Hype Williams missed the mark that Paul Hunter hit. Fucking labels, and its a shame because with the exception of a few songs Nastradamus could’ve been much better. Life We Chose was dope, i even liked Nastradumus until the video, Some of Us Have Angels is dope, Project Windows is a beautiful song and i still go back to that song these days, Come And Get Me was the first time i thought Nas and Premo didn’t work well together, Love Nas to death but I hated Shoot Em Up and still do til this day, Last Words is one of my favorite Nas records of all time and had it been on any of his other albums more people would think the same, Family with Mobb Deep is dope as shit especially when the god said “click you timbs 3 times the wizard is Nas, grant you a wish you get rich while listening hard”, God Love Us ehhh, Quiet Niggaz is dope but it shouldve stayed in the street, Big Girl I cant front was a guilty pleasure of mine, New World is my second least favorite Nas song of all time after Shoot Em Up, and You Owe Me is still ringing off in clubs 11 years later. Damn, this is what you guys get out of me when im bored as hell sitting at the airport waiting on a flight, long tangents about Nas records, let the Nastradamus debate begin!!!!!

I’m already thinking of your favorite rappers worst songs so im ready!!

  83. Truth says:

Look, I don’t even comment..I just listen to music and take it all in. But seriously..the pure talent of Nas is unquestionable…who can fuck wit him? Not many.

  84. Shady says:

Yo Eminem gotta do a song with Nas. That would be dope. Em is the GOAT. @ Queenz Eminem is my fav rapper. Encore was garbage but i do believe he has surpassed Nas as the best. Agree or no?

  89. They call me Slim Roethlisberger says:

nas not the goat but he is top 3

  90. Top 3 Dead or Alive: Big, Hov & Nas!!!
but Nas has da best rap album ever ILLMATIC!!!!

  91. top 5 artists of all time (skill wise)
    1. Eminem (Without question, best lyricist and has the best flows in the game)
    2. Jay Z (2nd best lyricist and has good flow, also has most swagger and confidence)
    3. Nas (Great lyricist and has a good flow, Reasonable Doubt however was more of a classic than Illmatic in my opinion although it is almost nearly impossible to call)
    4. T.I. (Amazing lyricist, impeccable delivery and swift cunning punchlines, able to hang with any artist on any track)
    5. Ludacris (Very clever punchlines, superb flow, great command over the microphone with impressive confidence and swagger, able to feature on almost any track and bring it to life as both a rapper and hypeman.)

  92. If you are wondering why I left out Biggie and Tupac, yes they are infamous but skill wise don’t really compare to most. Tupac had a lot of similar rhymes in most of his songs and Biggie tended to trample over the same themes in his songs, like selling crack. Another artist who almost made the cut but didn’t in my opinion would be Talib Kweli, very talented and still in my opinion has a lot of ground to cover and has yet to win over as many hearts as he has the potential to. You can disagree with me and insult me blah blah blah, but at the end of the day this is my opinion, I mean it is the only right one haha, but opinions are like assholes.

  93. Dr. N Black says:

@Lukescorner….Thats my only concern also, the beats Nas gets on be boring. Rhyming to this big beat sample that RUNDMC used in 82-83 and so many other rappers used thru out time makes me not want to listen to this over&over. I damn sure cant bump this in the whip. I was bumpin Represent, the Flyest feat AZ and Stillmatic and niggaz was like thats that hit. Why? Cuz dem beats were so dope and they make Nas rhymes more potent.

This is the reason i did’nt buy Distant Relatives, the lyrics are great but the music was’nt bumpable. Thats why i will always choose Jayz over Nas.

  94. Crooks says:

    Lyrical genius!

Whenever you have a chance, visit myspace.com/crooksda1. Thank You in advance!

  95. QUEENZ says:

    @ Dr. N Black

wtf is a “bumpable”? Lol, im fuckin wit u but the production on DR was dope, its just not what you’re used to, its a different genre all together so if you were never into reggae its only natural for that album to not be on your radar (no pun), in fact, the only reason you listened at all is cuz you’re a nas fan. In part, that was the point of the record, you either loved it or you hated it. but you’re in the minority bro.

  96. QUEENZ says:

    @ Cory Belliveau

how you gon say thats your top 5 (skill wise) then wanna talk about Jay and Luda’s “impressive swagger and confidence”?

TI on anyone’s GOAT list is so disrespectful to so many other MCs and it is YOUR opinion but I’m positive Kiss would disagree, Mos Def would as well, and the list goes on, and on.

  97. JBiggs says:

Daaaaaamn! This is why Nas is THAT DUDE. I mean, look at the facts: Jay-Z is a monster with the flows and the wordplay, but Nas does that as well or even better than Jay without diluting the lyrics or being repetitive. That’s a problem for the record labels that wanna make a profit off of wack-ass music with a simple-ass formula, although Jay is the other nicest MC in the game. And if Nas was so wack, why is he headlining tours and why did his last two solo albums debut at #1 on the pop charts? Relevancy is about talent combined with popularity and how it stands the test of time. I think 17 years and five #1 albums is quite the accomplishment.

  98. sc_R says:

@borris u must not have caught that song at the end of entourage last night.. and that’s about as relevant as u get wit these dumb ass kids nowadays

  99. @hiphop81 says:

How is everyone sayin “Nas is back”?? Dude never went anywhere!! He was just 50% percent responsible for a classic album less than 1 year ago. Ya’ll only hear what you wanna hear….fuckin dummies

  100. darrius says:

    I ADMIT I WAS ONCE A JAY-Z I THINK IM RECOVERING FINALLY

  101. […] deserved its own post. Here’s a no-tag, clean edit of Nas’ new stellar freestyle that Green Lantern debuted. This is the Nasty guy we all know and love. More, […]

  102. 3rdRail says:

Wow, the freestyle by Nas was so off the chain that we don’t realize what a gem there is on this mixtape. Finally we are able to hear the song “Most Kings” by Jay-Z. For those not in the know, Hov basically spit this song as a “freestyle” on his epic performance on Flex radio show over the Grammy Family beat. Good shit!!!

  103. krome says:
