Touré was lucky enough to chop it up with Lauryn Hill backstage at the Rock The Bells concert this past weekend. She speaks on her absence from the game and her creative mind state. New album in the cards? Outlook, not so good.
can’t do nothin but respect everything she had to say. i think, when it comes to performing and doing old songs that just aren’t relevant to where you are as an artist is why andre 3000 stopped touring and performing. the issue is, like lauryn said, that those emotions and ideas that you’ve grown past… the people haven’t grown passed them, necessarily. so the question becomes what you see as your duty or not your duty as an artist and a vessel.
respect. no new album? cool… we got Janelle Monae now, lol. we need to throw our support behind her. she isn’t nearly as conflicted as L-Boogie, and is clearly on a mission for world domination. no accidental fame, lol.
