He is focusing on other ways to sell his name/brand before his album drop. Albums dotn make money and his album also will probably suck. He doesn’t want that to effect the brand he has built. When you here the words DRE, people perk up “well the common person”…So the idea is keep telling people something is coming, if something is leaked tell them its from yrs ago. Just keep his name in your mouth and he will continue to make money.
They sound amazing till they break in 6 months, conveniently right after the warranty os finished. Monster is great about sending you another pair if yours has issues but sorry if your past.

Its not like im saying im turning on him, but my reasoning is this: When you’re a successful musician, its like you’re the board committee or stock. the fans (the ones that buy or has bought your product) are the ones that collectively put money in your pocket. If im this successful musician, i feel the fans have somewhat (emphasis on SOMEWHAT) of a say in my career and if im loyal to them, ill put out a project when i say im putting out a project. Music is such a funny thing in that we give our money to them and they give us songs that people use as coping mechanisms. People are even conceived to music at times. SO when people lash out at an artist for “funny” practices, its to be expected. Im not dissing Dre like Fuck em, but if he drops Detox tomorrow and barely anyone buys it because of all the delays, the fans arent really to blame for that, you know?
Plus hows Kanye steal your shine like that? Ye’ has been giving out hot-fire throwaway tracks to keep fans happy, how come Dre couldnt do that? We’ve been hearing reference tracks for the longest and unfinshed material, it shouldnt take that long to put some polished stuff out.
