How’s that for clairvoyance? Before J.Cole made a mark on The Blueprint 3, he was an upcoming rapper known as The Therapist. While on his grind, he tried to get Hov’s attention by sporting a t-shirt emblazoned “Produce For Jay-Z Or Die Tryin”. Until now, photos of the actual shirt have remained a mystery. But thanks to Scoop DVD (and YouTube), here’s a freestyle of him donning the tee at the now defunct Baseline Studios. You’ve come a long way, baby.

Soulja Boy has sold millions of records and produced platinum singles. Waka and Gucci have albums out and have credits under their belt and im not a fan but they’ve done more than this dude. U do realize that Talib Kweli and Mos Def have been around since Blackstar in ’98, wheras Souljah Boy has been around for like 2 years and Waka Flocka about 1? Even Tech has been rapping twice as long as Gucci. I mean your own examples prove u wrong, stupid gimmicky rappers are the ones that flare out after a few years after the gimmick gets old. The creative, talented dudes that stay making real music are guys that get a full career in this industry.

Why do people keep calling drake and thank me later a flop?? Shit was like almost gold first week and I think its platinum now… Drake was grammy nominated before he even made an album… Like I’m bias cause I’m from Toronto, and i still feel he shoulda made his debut album more about rap and less about singing, just to show people he’s a real rapper, cause believe me based on his mixtapes that man can spit. But I understand if you don’t like his music, or think he’s corny, but you can’t call him a flop or try to say hes not doing well… he’s doing amazing! success wise, that boy good.

More than anything it seems like youre arguing that an original, talented young artist should sell out like Drake and start making pop. I’m a J. Cole fan, i agree with what you’re saying @Truth, i liked “Who Dat” but i don’t think it was a good single to come out the gate with, I think Who Dat is a little to agressive for the mainstream ears! I think he should have dropped Lights, Please or Higher or even Dreams as his first single, but even with that said i beleive he has time to conquer the masses because he’s ambitious and very very talented.
