  24. DMVRaised says:

Hate it or Love it, half the people on this site know they bought 808’s when it came out, and u know u bumped da shit for atleast a month straight…infact y’all can’t deny that ya fucked wit autotune. Yall fucked wit autotune until Jay-Z dropped D.O.A….why? cuz yall followers…yall the fans, your not “thee artist”.

U can b an EMCEE, or u can b an EMCEE who’s an artist. What’s the difference?

The difference is the EMCEE is just spitting lines…showing off skills, talking bigger then he really is. It might b sick, with wicked punch lines…no doubt, and not hating…it still takes talent.

But EMCEE ARTIST he will brainstorm his album. Yes he’ll have one or two radio songs, maybe one or two “show off ur skills on da mic” songs like the average EMCEE. But the art is the brainstorming. The art is the concept, the message, the thesis and the theme. Sometimes an artist will come out with a sequel or even a trilogy for his album…as a concept.

    Jay-Z: The Blueprint Trilogy

BP1- It’s the foundation…the beggining of the second half of his career….Taking Jay-Z away from dat hood NYC tunnel rap to soul samples.

BP2-Experimenting the sounds to become. When I first heard BP2 I thought it was wack…I think it would of been classic but he should of kept it one CD. He experimented the sounds, that’s why the album is all over the place.

BP3-Straight up for da suburbs. Hate it or Love it.

Kanye had his trilogy with his first 3 albums.

Eminem came out wit sequels for all his albums

    SSLP & MMLP
    TES & ENCORE
    RELAPSE & RECOVERY

NAS doesnt really have sequels or Trilogys exept for Illmatic and Stillmatic…but all his covers after “Nastradamos” have a hidden imagery concept to it. And all his albums himself have a concept.

Yall thinking hidden imagery…look @ this…”Stillmatic” there’s the flood and the pigeon. “The pigeon represents the dove that told Noah bout the flood. The river is the flood. “Lost Tapes” is the drought, The river in the album cover is empty. “God’s Son” is meant to represent the purity with the blue and him being topless, the innocence, and the good in Jesus. “Street’s Disciple” is imagery of the last supper…the last supper is the night b4 jesus was cruxified. “HIP-HOP is DEAD” is the grave…Nas=Hip-Hop but Nas is God’s Son, and God’s Son=Jesus. “Nigger” is the ressurection. Jesus was scarred up from the whip lashing…Notice the infamous “N” scarred up…its not bleeding, its scarred. I wonder what Nas will come out wit next.

50 Cent on the other hand he lost his fame, his fans, his music credibility because after Get Rich, he had no more concepts…Dont get me wrong, his album titles are great…U would think there is a concept…”B4 I Self Destruct” is an attractive title, but the album doesnt have shit to do wit the title, exept from “Flight 187” but that didnt even make the album.

    EMCEES vs. EMCEE ARTISTS

THE EMCEE has no longevitity while the artist stays around and will b around…EM, Jay, NAS, Kanye…will always have their die hard fans…why cuz they make GOOD music.
