This is a great move for Jay Electronica. The purists might dislike it because he’s “selling out” but he got signed as he is and is hot because he is who he is so I don’t think his music is going to change. All it means is more promo, more dough for better production (not that he needs any producer aside from Just Blaze) a likely Jay-z feature, and more exposure. Good move.

Jay-Z’s the ONLY person that has released off the label so far, it’s not as if everybody else EXCEPT Cole has put out an album. The label is just getting it’s legs under it, give it some time. Cole’s out there, doing shows and building buzz and anticipation for himself. When he does release he’ll sell because he’s GOOD, not because he’s riding off of Jay’s name.
