Jay-Z along with Dr. Cornel West and Paul Holdengräber appeared at the New York Public Library last night for an analysis of his book, Decoded. Attendees also included Lupe Fiasco and Harry Belafonte. The reading lasted for nearly two hours, but here’s some footage from the fifth row. Decoded is in bookstores now.

This was 1 of the better interviews, i saw the whole thing when it originally aired and West asked Jay some real grown man questions. The oddest thing was when Paul would play music, it just seem so akward…lol

A great conversation btwn these three men..I would hope that especially for those who scream f jay all day long that you would drop the hate jus long enough to tell how jay is tellin OUR story..he is sort of like the socio-economic professor of rap..personally I don’t feel he gets enough credit..but to be side by side with cornell west is amazing and able to clearly articulate what was goin on in life and society that has and continues to shape what we call hip hop is even better…def goin to get my copy
