Nipsey Hussle LP Postponed Indefinitely

Nipsey Hussle fans will have to hold their breath a lil’ longer for the release of his debut album, South Central State of Mind. The project was scheduled to drop on December 21st. But before your face turns blue, Nip offered an explanation via his Twitter page.

South central state of mind has been indefinitly postponed. I’m droping “The Marathon” on 12 21 2010. I’ll explain because yall matter to me: SOUTH CENTRAL STATE OF MIND IS MY MASTERPEICE. WHEN ITS DONE U WILL GET IT. UNTILL THEN #TMC. THIS IS NOT MY LABELS DECISION, ITS A CREATIVE MOVE TO ENSURE THAT I GIVE MY TRUE BELIVERS MY BEST OFFERING ON MY DEBUT ALBUM. MY LIFE HAS BEEN SUCH A STRUGGLE, AND I ALWAYS SAID IF I EVER MAKE IT TO WHERE I AM NOW I WOULD DO IT FROM THE HEART.

  1. Take ya time. If it ain’t ready it ain’t.

I’d rather see you take ya time and be happy, than rush it unhappily and have it be a frisby.

    TRANSLATION:

THE RECORD LABEL SHELVED THE PROJECT INDEFINITELY. THEY HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THE PROJECT. NO WAY IN HELL THEY WAS GONNA PUT OUT THAT ALBUM AFTER THAT WEAK HORRIBLE SINGLE WITH LLOYD. I SAID IT WAS MY DECISION NOT TO PUT OUT THE ALBUM TO SHOW FACE. IT WASN’T REALLY MY DECISION…IT WAS THE MACHINE’S.

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  22. Stood says:

  23. JohnBlack says:

i Think mac Diesel said it all, honestly nobodies checking for that dude. I said it before and I’ma say it again. When Kanye beat 50 cent with Graduation, it sounded the end of hardcore gangsta rap. Nobody really cares how hard you hussle, how many grams you’ve sold or how many tecs and glocks you got. That shit is dead. If you look at the hiphop artist that have gone platinmum after that you’ll see that most of them stayed away from the hardcore gangsta shit. it just isn’t selling anymore. Take Nikcy Minaj for example. If you look up some old videos of her you’ll see that she was on some shoot up em up bang bang shit. No she totally switched her demeanor. Because she realizes that shit don’t sell anymore.

  24. Belize says:

I hope that’s so. Hopefully it don’t go all Detox too. It’s a shame gangsta rap don’t sell no more. :/
Cuz that would suck ass if Nipsey’s album was g at first, and now he go change it all to make it so it’ll “sell.”

  25. no1 says:

Yea yea. @ what johnblack said. Truth

  26. ripper says:

I forsee no confidence in your album. You’ll wait too late and everyone will forget about you. Watch and learn!!! FYI, I am from Los Angeles and I will not be waiting for some gangsta rap unless it is flames…

  27. NotoriousRambo. says:

WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED SMH

  28. King says:

Nigga said Kanye beat 50 then gangsta rap fell off… the wayne came and sold 1.5 million saying he was a blood?

it’s not the genre it’s the timing…. and NH60d Nipsey will have his time…

  29. DIGGSY!!! says:

ATTN: ALL RAPPERS – stop promoting albums that are not ready to go. kanyes album was basically finished in march and came out in november. thats how your SUPPOSED to do it
