My Sirius acct wasn’t letting me log in this morning, you’re a life saver !!!
Thanks for the post B.Dot :)

  2. GTFO says:

Hate on YN all you want, but he is pulling in some artists. (Pause) And he just started.

  3. hatin is for sucka's says:

    GOOD INTERVIEW B DOT

thanks for that twitter thing on this site now, if only you could get rid of some of these retarded commenters

  4. B.Dot says:

    ^
thanks u guys…ya far too kind

  5. As A Man Thinketh says:

I don’t think its hate people have for YN per se, I don’t know him to say I hate him, but disdain or indifference might be appropriately stated. And I say this because he’s SUPPOSE to be a journalist. As a journalist, he’s should be more bi-partisan in how he interviews and approaches conversations with artists. It’s all good to have his personal favs, etc. But in my honest opinion, he comes off as a being on the jock of these particular artists. But I mean, we saw this when he was the EIC at XXL, his partisan ways towards Interscope & their artists. Even now, be clear that this site is funded by Paul Rosenberg & Goliath Mngt/Ent. (Em’s manager). So there’s a quota of stuff that HAS to be posted on this site.

Just an example, I’m not a fan of Charlamagne the Gd, but I RESPECT him because he says what the real is and he states his opinion and doesn’t back peddle when asked or confronted about it.

But listen to the questions, commentary and interaction in these interviews…are you as listerners, consumers and fans actually LEARNING anything new that you might now have read or heard in another interview??

I can keep going but the percentages of those who don’t understand are higher than the percentages of those who do, which percentage are you?

    Listen up

  6. JIMMY says:

THIS GUY RIGHT HERE IS THE GREATESTTTTTT!

    WEEZY AND DRIZZY THE G.O.A.T.

Really? u commenters and ur theories. hilarious.

  10. As A Man Thinketh says:

    Peace B. Dot -
I don’t have theories, I just know the real..i work in the industry…10+ year and have worked with (enter your fav artist here ________), I’m still at UMG getting a check, so God is good.
But I’m just keeping it 100 with the fans/youngster out there. I like RapRadar but todays journalism, access, etc has a play a role along with BAD MUSIC in the demise of good artists falling thru the crack because of the machine backing what they perceive to be winners.
You honestly know this is a microwave society we live in…attn span of a HOT artist is like 3 months. I remember when 3-4 singles could take an album for summer to summer, now its maybe 3-5 months.

I just wanted to point out that YN/RapRadar is affliated with Em/etc, so the Shade45 situation was appropo..but don’t make it seem like that was dude to the hustle. That was the hookup…
Keep it 100 and let them know the real. Why some artists on here get the shaft and some artist/post stay getting posted and the content is not good.

    peace

  11. GTFO says:

Drake isn’t the interview that you are going to find anything new in. He damn near puts everything out there for people to see. I don’t do hiphop politics, cuz I don’t care who likes who.

You could be an asshole like Charlemagne and risk artists never showing up for an interview again, or play the middle and do a good interview and always have confidence in them showing up when called. But CThaGod is funny.

At the end of the day its about the artists showing up at the station, which in turn brings in more subscribers. #itsstillearly

  12. dannidavito says:

    awww drake loves j.cole lol

  13. ZoomZoom says:

DRIZZYYYYYYYYYYYYY! NICE INTERVIEW YALL SHOULD INTERVIEW HIM MORE INSTEAD OF BUMS LIKE J.COLE

    WAYNE THE GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. B.Dot says:

i’ll break it down. YN has been on the air before with Angela Yee. obviously, listeners are familiar. this is a temp thing until they find some1 perm.

    2. Why some artists on here get the shaft and some artist/post stay getting posted and the content is not good.

Disclaimer: Rap Radar is NOT, i repeat NOT star search, American Idol, or the fuckin’ Core DJs. We cover and document the most current events and names in hip-hop. finding the new hot talent was never our M.O. when we launched. if we cover an unknown act, feel honored. It’s not OUR job to make YOU hot. if u wanna find out bout ur fav underground or sewer rapper, there’s 100 sites to the right of this page. go nuts.

  15. Word says:

” if u wanna find out bout ur fav underground or sewer rapper, theirs 100 sites to the right of this page. go nuts.”

  23. The Other P says:

@B. Dot I get what you’re saying but I see what ole boy is saying too.

Freddie Gibbs, Pill, etc. These are the cats yall consider current? No, them niggas underground. Shit I live in Georgia & I never hear anyone mention Pill like that. It’d be interesting to see the artists’ connections to RR through their managers, label execs or what have you. I’m sure there is connection whether you’d admit it or not.

As far as familarity w/ YN getting YN the morning job gig…Shade45 could have brought back Leo G who everyone who’s had XM before the station merger is much more familar w/ from the XM66 Raw days. Or even put them afternoon/evening niggas Sear & Jude on in the morn, especially if it was only temporary. YN got the hook up, period. Not saying he isn’t qualified but keep it 100. How often is rapradar mentioned on the morning show? Mentions on air=hits on website

  42. As A Man Thinketh says:

    B. Dot – It appears as if you took what I said personal, when I started the convo with peace…lol..all good. But let me break this down for you…bc please believe I’m a VET in the game and I’m still in the game.

The “Other P” comment, he got EXACTLY what I was saying. I’m not knocking ANYONE..esp. a brother doing something legal to get money…keep striving. But don’t pass this shit off as what y’all doing is journalism, etc. I know its about hits, demographics, adspace, etc. I told you and I’ll say it again, I DOES THIS! No one ask RR to be Star Search, etc. but to act like some of this shit y’all post is DOPE and THE PEOPLE validate it is a lies, its because you or YN is hooking up a manager friend or label PR person that ‘yall know from y’all days at XXL. I know the real pimpin’ thats all im saying. And trusts, its all about who you know…Thus you and YN knowing Graph’s, Freddie Gibbs, Pill’s management get them posted..so I don’t knock the hustle or the game per se – but the fronting is at an ALL TIME HIGH! Because can’t know cat in here tell me the cats I just name make GOOD music.

Again peace and we can agree to disagree.

  43. KCMO says:

cool interview, YN cut back on the laughing, thanks

  44. dashing says:

The most newsworthy thing in there was Drake subtly mentioning that he thinks Kanye perceives him as a threat. I think that’s probably true to a certain extent. That may have had something to do with why he took Drake off “All of the Lights.”

I also like how YN tried to goad Drake by saying “You been putting J. Cole under your wing.” but Drake was smart enough to not fall for it.

  45. [...] We heard a leaked version of ‘All Of The Lights’ with a Drake verse much before the final version, which ended up not featuring that particular verse. On Shade 45 with Elliott Wilson, he talks about the confusion and his love for Kanye’s music. Listen to the rest of the interview here. [...]
