Rick Ross Wants To Sign Wale & Meek Mill
This past weekend, Wale took to his Twitter and hinted at joining Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group. Rozay tells The Source, he’s been in talks with not only him, but Meek Mill as well.
“I look for next year to be an even bigger year. We just brought Jah Cure to the team. That’s one of the biggest reggae superstars in the game. We just did a deal with that. Look for that first quarter. I’m talking to artist out of Philly that I think is the future of Philly. Meek Mill, I’m talking to him right now about Maybach Music. As well as I’m talking to Wale….Wale is a hustler. I feel he’s one record away from being the next nigga, He’s just a naturally fly nigga. Slick talking nigga. That’s right up my alley. I just think that camraderie, riding with Rozay, it’ll mean that much more. I feel he’s one record away. As well as Meek Mill.”

On first glance Rozay and Wale seem like a strange mix but if Wale continues to change his sound I guess it could work. It’s like the old adage “If at first you don’t suceed….change your entire image and sound.”
Also, I wonder if Ross realizes the irony of saying he’s “one track away.” That phrase has become synonomous with Memph Bleek, someone who had a decent career but never blew up to the heights that Jay/Rocafella seemed to envision for him. Now it’s just kind of a joke. i.e. Ja Rule is just one hit away from his comeback….scratch that, bad example.

ross is smart, using his hype to sign artist who are hot now. Wale’s track with waka and rosco was an example of him being able to make a hit record and not only conscious tracks. At this rate he can build an empire and get rich off other hit makers. I can’t get mad at that.
