Remember dubbing your favorite song on the radio? No? Well, here’s the trailer for a new mini documentary directed by Jonathan Mannion. The full clip drops on January 19th on TDK’s homebase.
Hope its not as boring as Distant Relatives. I’m all about positive messages and meaningful lyrics but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring
Kanye at least delivers messages without boring, as well as Lupe, Jay-Z, Common. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to a Nas interview or song cus if i’m not in a chill wanting to learn mood then i’ll be bored. Its like sitting in class listening to your teacher lecture about the world for 12 hrs till u fall asleep lol

Some people need a serious intervention from HATING all the damn time…being a hater has to be BORING after a while! But anyway, this seems very interesting and I can’t wait to view the entire documentary on 1/19/11! Nas is classic hip hop!
The fuck is up with all this Nas bashing here lately? He’s the fucking role model for the new wave of rappers that gonna resurrect hip hop (Cole, Jay Elec…). Hip hop that actually MEANS something, ya know? That got a message. That’s whats hip hop is in it’s true essence. Poetry…. Not that poppy hip hop bullshit like lil wayne, wackaflacka and that souljaboy bullshit that niggas on this page seem to be into. It’s fucking saddening. I guess these dumbasses was what Nas was talking about when he dropped HIP HOP IS DEAD.

As far as this goes… I remember them days of recording the radio! Priceless!! Those were the times… on to Nas… And people claiming hate, boring, this that & the 3rd… Do I think Nas has gotten hatred at times, Yes I do… But do I also think that he has underachieved… In a major way! Nowadays…u get these corny ass niggas on blogsites…and u make a statement of how u feel about a situation, and get labeled a hater? That’s wack!!! I’ve been listening to Nas since Back To The Grill with Chubb Rock & Serch… Nas doesn’t spit anything wack PERIOD!!! But people gotta rememeber something… Rap Music is the fusion of a producer and his beat and that is the platform for an MC to spit his rap/message. And the truth is…ever since Stillmatic, Nas has had a problem with the production/beats… Yeah his lyricism is 2nd to none… but if the production sucks I don’t want to listen to it! His next album is make or break…coming from a nigga who used to tape the radio in the 80’s, I can speak on this
Yo those was the days.I remember taping Westwood’s 10 at 10 back in 95 when Shook one’s first dropped and the first singles off Rae’s purple tape [Glaciers of ice and Criminology if my mind serves me correct ] But i was on the yellow Memorex tapes as the Tdk’s was too expensive lol. Still got the tapes but no cassette player to play them on.Back then i used to get goosebumps when i first heard those songs of that era now maybe twice a year max and iv’e got access to everything.

People make me laugh talking about how Nas has underachieved. Nas could not possibly underachieve because he is living his life and blessed to be able to do things his way! Your personal preference of Nas’ music is your opinion but labeling him as an underachiever is called REACHING! When truthfully 1 album is all Nas believed would be of his career to make enough money to move out of the PJ’s. And here he is 9 solo albums plus 4 more outside albums (QB Finest, Lost Tapes, The Firm & DR) later and still counting. Nas’ music has appeared in countless movies, his music is taught in college courses, books have been written in reference to his music and he has countless personal achievements. But because you don’t like his choice in production/beats you want to marker him as an UNDERACHIEVER….GTFOH! People always want to undervalue others but yet lack the ability to achieve their own personal goals because they’re too busy trying to dictate what someone else should accomplish in life when truthfully Nas has surpassed his goals and achieved more than he set out to achieve years ago and as he recently told MTV “I want to continue to evolve.” He continues to evolve with his great lyrics! How can you possibly be an underachiever when you are considered one of the best to EVERY do it?
