Nicki didn’t really go platinum first she was just certified first. The studio has to pay the IRAA to certify that an album has shipped 1,000,000 units. Some labels are more eager then others to get that certification done because it makes a new artist like Nicki look good in the headlines her label Young Money/Universal probably asked for her certification very quickly. If you look at the weekly numbers Nicki still hasn’t past Kanye in overall sales.

Dont know what rock you live under but check spins on Monster & All Of The Lights?? Thats 2 radio songs by my count, and the fact that nicki minaj is even in compitetion with Kanye is feat of its own this her Debut Album, not her fifth album with an established fan base, big difference. And it was 4 months of hype just cuz you ride dick year round dont mean everybody does, good fridays started in august, this album was very disapointing considering everybody heard 85% of the album months before its release. was not enough for me to go buy it, was not even enough to even burn a copy, i aint wasting 99 cents on this garbage ass album, Its more like a compilation i mean count the verses by ye himself maybe 20 and thats the high end, how many tracks were just ye? i dont know cuz i threw that shit out…but hats off to him if i could sell a million copies of a record i gave most of it away i would be happy…
