VIBE caught up with Big Boi last night at the Anchor Bar in NYC to celebrate the launch of Crown Royal Black. During the interview General Patton says that his next solo album Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader will have only 10 tracks and so far, it will include a collaboration with Raekwon and Janelle Monae. Yeah, boi!

Hmm my view is if you’re gonna put out an album and call it that it needs to have at least 10 songs and in that case only songs no intros/outros/skits otherwise it’s only a 30-40min joint and that’s pretty lame, I know there are good short albums out but you know, if it’s that short it needs to be GREAT not good.
Anyways looking forward to it.
The last Big Boi album was hot, hopefully this will be too. I’d love to hear just 1 Dre feature though…

Btw- Killer Mike and El-P are apparently recording a collab album, and I heard not too long ago that Big Boi is gonna have at least 1 appearance on there. If it sounds anywhere near as good as its resume, and especially if some more of the Dungeon Family (Cee-Lo, Dre3k) and Weathermen (Aesop Rock, Cage) get involved, its gonna be something to seriously look out for.
Whoaaaa if Andre 3000 comes out with a new solo album, i’ll be the 1st in line to cop a copy!
