I respect when Em does these things for Detroit. Like the “Beautiful” music video was dope. I BEEN WANTING A CHRYSLER FUCK. Em was prolly cautious of doing all these superbowl commercials just cause he didnt wanna come off like a sell-out based on who he used to be and his old “fuck anything commercial” attitude, which is funny cause he’s by far the biggest mainstream commercial rappers. He did a good job, one commercial was jokes, and this was quite sincere for Detroit.

Makes sense that this would be an expensive commercial. I mean if “Glee” couldn’t afford the $200,000 price tag for one of Em’s songs, imagine that paying for the spot, paying for an Eminem song, getting Em himself to come on, getting the car, renting a venue, closing down streets in Detroit, and getting a choir together would have put a real dent in the wallet. But if it leads to high sales then it should be worth every penny.

I think Eminem’s music is ok, but this ad has me thinking twice about Detroit and Eminem – in a more positive light.
Sure, there were no dancing monkeys or old comedians or talking animals in the commercial. But it is something that few commercials accomplish, and that’s to give a positive feeling about product that makes you say “wow”.
When’s the last time you saw a commercial that made you re-think your feelings about something? I don’t mean about a car that I probably won’t ever purchase because of the price tag but an entire city that’s been a punchline in so many jokes over the last 30 years.

This commercial meant a lot to the people of Michigan. One of the most devastated states and Detroit one of the most devastated cities effected by our shitty economy. To respond to all of your comments yes this add was made for people to buy American made cars and Chrysler specifically, but thats the point of them making the commercial. The fact that it showed America that it’s not the worst place on the planet and there are some things Detroit can be proud of was motivational. Who cares if you like eminem or not. I’m not a huge fan of his music but I think it’s great that he supports Detroit the way he does.
