lol no all these guys are definitely pop I didnt even realize there was any question about that. Notice right there on the cover (that they all posed and interviewed for) it says “THE NEW POP MUSIC”, so I think they all know it, too, otherwise they wouldnt be on that cover.

Kinda both. Obviously Bruno Mars has not other genre to even come close to, hes just straight pop. But Wiz and B.o.B both started off with much more creative, unique music catalogues than the music that theyre making now and theres really no way to explain that other than Atlantics influence. On the other hand, like u pointed out, theyre getting more play now. So in both ways, theyre pop.

It’s Pop, plain and simple and I’m really happy that the word Hip-Pop is picking up. I don’t think it’s fair to put B.O.B. and Wiz Khalifa in the same category as say a Nas or Mos Def. Now, that’s Hip Hop! But yeah, to each their own. I’m just not down with that Pop ish.

Pop is not a genre. People keep pointing out shit like Britney Spears and Katy Perry, thats just the pop version of RnB. Fall Out Boy and Lenny Kravitz are pop-rock. Wiz and B.o.B are pop-rap. Taylor Swift is pop-country.
Basically, “pop” is just what happens when u cross that line and start to care more about album sales and relevance than the music that that u make. U take fewer risks, u dumb your lyrics down, and u spend most of your time chasing whatever is hot at the moment. Its a great way to get rich quick and lose all your real fans within a year or 2.
