Carmelo Anthony wasn’t the only acquisition that went down last night. Apparently, Pill has jumped ship from Asylum Records and signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group. Earlier this month, the label acquired free agents Meek Mill and Wale. And then there were three.
I’m sorry but so far Maybach’s acquisitions have been average at best. Roc Nation GOOD Music and Shady Records >>>>>>>> Maybach Music
This must’ve been a favor to YN cuz this dude gets no love whenever y’all post his shit. I see no reason at all to sign him but hey, I ain’t the one doing the signing

US being consumers, it aint about the sales. That being said, Wale is the only nigga I fucks with on that label. More about Nothing and Attention Deficit are iLL.
But, as a label head, you should be signing niggas that can bring in revenue with sales and what not. Wales Attention Deficit was a well rounded, mainstream record with people like Lady Gaga on it. And it flopped still. He the only one that would appeal, but it still aint gonna happen.
I hope Wale continues with great music. I hope they all do. But looking at it from the labels perspective, its hard to imagine any of them would move over 500k units.

Those of y’all comparing MMG to Shady, Roc, and CMYM need to stop. First, MMG is relatively new to the game, and so far Ross has picked up some pretty dope free agents. All those other labels mentioned have LONG been around, its like comparing an IPO stock to fucking Google. You can’t do that, your argument becomes invalid…or just really shitty.
Only time will tell, but regardless of sales I bet the music that’s released is some of the best the next few years.
