X17 Online was able to bring us a first look at Bey’s upcoming video, “Girl”. Directed by Francis Lawerence, the clip was shot in the California desert and will be the first offering off her next album. According to Sister 2 Sister, she aslo flew-in 200 dancers from Africa. As far as the single itself, ONTD got the scoop:
The theme of “Girl” is like a female empowerment/girl power type of song that is a definite club banger with Top 40/Worldly appeal. The beat is driven by a sample of a popular club song that a lot of you will probably recognize. There’s a breakdown in the song that is described as absolutely fucking disgustingly sick! Definitely an anthem in the style of her singing. My friend couldn’t remember exact lyrics, but “Girl…girl….girl” is repeated a lot through out the song.

Her lyrics are childlike…so I guess a song called “Girls” would be perfect for her type of audience. She is a 30 year old married woman and still performing songs on an immature level. I thought her song “If I Was a Boy” was about girl power also. There should be some growth in her music after all these years besides the usual “Single Ladies” Freak Dress” and “Video Phone” type of music. I can see why that immature song (“Put It In a Love Song”) Alicia Keys did with her never hit the airwaves…it was horrible and so unlike Alicia but totally Beyonce’s style!
