Print That Shit 2: Bonsu Thompson Pt. 1

Not only is Bonsu Thompson, the Editor-In-Chief of The Source, he’s also the guy that gave me my biggest break. Long story, read about it here. Anyway for Al Lindstrom’s series, Bezo speaks on his early years at XXL and YN’s mission to overthrow The Source.

    B.Dot… i got a question for you…

a TRUE journalist is expected to report in the most objective and unbiased way. How can you do that when the owner of your website represents the artists that often appeon your sire? (b.o.b., yelawolf, eminem, etc.). For example… Yelawolf is way overrated and I know you feel this way deep in your heart but you can’t tell the truth because your boss will get mad. I think of you as more of a compromised journalist… sort like the folks at the Post and Fox News. You can journalize but within the parameters of the “program”. In my opinion you’re more of a publicist than a journalist.

Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist’s credibility. Integrity can’t exist if you can be bought and manipulated.
