  4. yesssir says:

sad part of this is. most people don’t actually care what Common has to say in his poetry in the White House.

Everyone is so caught up in the controversy of Fox’s criticism of Common’s visiting the White House, people are watching this video and commenting on the good that is done by his visit, and the inspirational words he actually had to say.

    controversy > culture

  5. Kid Cudi says:

Common has such positive energy, Fox News just assumes that because he is rapper, he embodies the hip-hop lifestyle, and sadly, that means that he is gang-affiliated, he kills people, he does and deals drugs, and he hates women. While he was young, yes, he may have tried to represent some of this, but as he matured, he is a changed man. His critique of Bush is that of a revolutionary. Sean Hannity is a racist, and had any of his colleagues at Fox News, or any of his Republican politicians he endorses so heavily critiqued Bush, it would be accepted as a valued and thought out opinion. Burn Bush is a reference to the Bible, but Fox thinks that this cannot be true, for the poet is a nigger. Yes, it is frankly put, but who cannot agree that this is what Hannity is thinking? Sean Hannity is afraid of an intelligent, politically educated rapper with a public voice, so it is his natural reaction to critisize it. It`s okay, Hannity, we get that you make generalizations based on someone`s occupation or race, it`s second nature for you. Just get the fuck off of public television when you share your racist, biased views.

  6. Word says:

Wait, where is Commons doo rag and bullet proof vest? Where are his guns? Where are the lyrics about murdering cops? I thought this guy was a thug? Was I just played by Fox? Again??? – Typical misinformed white person

  7. Revolution says:

True words, as usual from Common. If they think they can use this against Obama they just made themselves look like the typical, republican, racist, tyrannous, bastards they are.

  15. It sucks that the world is so bereft of such deep meaningful lyrics over sick beats. Common nailed it here. He knows the true meaning and purpose of the rap game, and he brought justice here, to all who know life struggle.
