    @ Sean

Well, MTV Unplugged is a pretty big deal like stated above. I’m just saying this is an exclusive even and usually pretty organized. This isnt an event you just go buy tickets too, either you get selected to go or you win something, and this sells on DVD and CD/iTunes later on. And of course it was filmed and will show on MTV as a special later too, so its more about keeping the hype concealed until it airs.

  15. Mr.G says:

Can’t wait to see this shit. Where did Em’s name come from lol??
Anyway, ppl can say what they want but Wayne is a Hip Hop Icon now and his place in history has been marked. After 2 more albums, he’ll be releasing his Greatest Hits album, i bet, i can picture the list. Dude got a crazy catalog

  35. MJB says:

@PPtheTruth: The etymolgy of swag is prolly debatable, as with most words and phrases, but I’m going with the shorthand of swagger which came waaaaay before ’08. “I guess I got my swagger back” in ’01 is the obvious one and Sean Corey prolly got it from the street but his ability to help propel trends definately contributed. I remember from that point on everybody ran with the term, especially sportscasters who are known for mining hip-hop expressions. This makes sense in the context of how the word evolved to used in hip-hop “hop up out of bed turn my swag on…”

I just don’t see the logical link from goodie bags to hip-hop even in the hands of the wierdos and hipsters, but anything is possible I guess.

Can’t wait to see this show by the way. Great selection of the first pic released. I wonder what took so long between the last one. I would’ve thought maybe Em would’ve had one, maybe even Luda………wait, T.I. and Jay (prolly others) had the “Storytellers” on the sister network so maybe that was used to fill the void.

  36. MJB says:

Looking at this pic reminds me that these exclusive audiences almost always look less diverse than one would expect. I imagine it takes lots of connects to get one of the coveted spots.

I’d love to see these events created at great venues in urban centers where memorable moments can be made that aren’t just for MTV’s shareholders, its still good ish though, don’t get me wrong.

  37. Atlboy says:

Should be dope. Wayne is a decent performer.

  38. SmokeYou says:

Lol @ hiphop unplugged. Disgrace to all the REAL musicians who came before
