i love j cole but that single’s just not strong enough. we all know it. it’s not because we’re fans that we shouldn’t criticize him.
You know im actually surprised by the hate this single has got. Its a good song to drive to, I could honestly seeing the song doing well on the radio. Would I want his entire album to sound like this? Of course not but I still want a hit single out of him so he can Blow up, J.Cole has the potential to being a legend in the game so Im cheering for him and as far as this being a single I honestly feel Work Out was a good choice.
The song is good not great hope the video make up for the song. I hope Cole discovers the next up and coming vixen

COLE WORLD. Nice to see the nigga FINALLY shooting more videos. I think Cole only has about, what? 4 videos? In the Morning (which isnt really a true video) Simba, Who Dat, and I dont even know…maybe one more not sure. But between this and the Wale video, its bout time niggas start to really see J.Cole and what hes about and hear his music and start the promo train for this album. Like Work Out or not, at least the singles out. Album drops 9/27. Cole World, no blanket. Just waiting on the cover and tracklist. Hope he dont disappooint on either tho. I liked the Warm Up cover. Hope he keeps with the Basketball themes. As for features, Jay obviously. I expect Drake too, and prolly Wale again. Hope he has some good singers to help him with his hooks though. And I hope he isnt the only one handling the production. I just feel like Work Out was under produced even though I like the song. But a lot of his beats sound somewhat outdated. He needs just a little help with that I think

I don’t think it wack but he had so many better songs on his mixtapes than this and if your mixtape shit better than your album shit you need to rethink things that’s all do i think his album will be good hell yeah but for the people that don’t know you and this is the first look it’s like Oh ok this is a cool song but this is not a hands down HIT!!!!! shit the Blow was a hit, Nights please was a hit but this my dude isn’t.

I agree with this not being strong enough to be the lead single from the album. I like “Cheer Up” much better, but this just does not cut it. It’s a weak sample that he supposedly had to wait for clearance for. This is not gonna give him the momentum he needs. He might have to put out at least 3 more singles before an album is given the green light for release!
