For this week’s Any Given Sunday installment, Jermaine lets loose the album cover for his Roc Nation debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story which will be hitting stores on September 27th. Art Direction and Design by Alex Haldi for Bestest Asbestos and Photography by Leann Mueller.

I folks would let this nigga live. Sideline story = Pic in a locker room with a letterman jacket. Completely relevant to the title. Not sure what folks want from this dude. Unless you are on the net heavy you probably still haven’t heard a lot of his music. He has a gang of tour dates so somebody was willing to book him for a long ass tour. I’d rather him have a slow burner than a heavy traffic first week and immense drop off. First week numbers really only matter if you chasing the buzz of that first spot. The next week they are usually on to the next. No less he’s dropping on a day with a bunch of other artists. Does K.R.I.T. have “buzz” like that? I don’t see folks hating on him nearly that much.
Fuck a cover! It’s about the music anyways, if someone makes a dumbfuck ass comment about the cover they obviously jack off to it instead of listening to the music

the female guest feature is most likely Lauryn Hill.
Its rumoured that it’s Teyana Taylor but that wouldn’t be a suprised that we would be excited for. Lauryn Hill would be the only surprise that would be worth not releasing the name.

The SIDELINE Story. Its a sports theme. Only fitting that hes in a locker room getting ready for the big game. Not cliched and unoriginal like putting your face on the cover with a different design on it like Wiz and Drake.
And why ppl dick Kanye so much? Just cuz he gets french designers or whatever to do his covers, no matter how hidious it might look, he has the best covers? His best album cover was Graduation. Everything else was not that great.

according to j. cole the reasons behind lights please being on the album is because not only many people STILL never heard of the song before (he amassed a gain of new fans since that song came out) it was the SONG that got him SIGN in the 1st please. it was the sole reason why he’s in the position he’s at now, so he HAVE to put it on the album.
as for in the morning, it’s been a fan favorite from FNL and felt the drake feature would pull in more listeners.
