Wow, Birdman ain’t lie. According to Hits Daily Double, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV sold an estimated one million copies. If the number holds up, he becomes the second rapper after Eminem to hit platinum twice in the first week. The final tally is in tomorrow, but this will mark Weezy’s third number one album. Belee dat.

The numbers actually come in Tuesday afternoons. Soundscan doesn’t post them to the public til Weds. Also, the Tues numbers always come in a little less than the wed reported soundscans. So look for a slight jump up in numbers (maybe a 1000) when reported 2moro.

You are correct. Soundscans are computerized and come in for the week on Tues afternoons. I have been following the Soundscan numbers for Wayne everyday since last thurs. It was pretty obvious after friday he was gonna top 1 million first week.
