Wow, Birdman ain’t lie. According to Hits Daily Double, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV sold an estimated one million copies. If the number holds up, he becomes the second rapper after Eminem to hit platinum twice in the first week. The final tally is in tomorrow, but this will mark Weezy’s third number one album. Belee dat.

Tha Carter IV is a below average album but trust and believe, it will not gown down as a flop by selling over 1 mil first week and losing steam afterwards. It’s already a platinum selling record. There’s albums that have been out a while now that are barely reaching Gold status (Ex. Bad Meets Evil) but that’s not considered a flop in your book, is it? Just trying to make it clear that a platinum album is not considered a flop regardless of how much less it sells after selling 1mil first week. Yes ALL record labels but THEIR OWN ALBUMS, its a know #FACT. They give it out @ industry events, listening parties, to interns, to radio stations and DJs, etc. -> They usually have a hole punched over the barcode so you cant bring it to the store for a return. I know because i use 2 intern @ Sony and i work on & off in the music industry.
P.S. If your saying WTT had Techno/ POP beats… you need 2 do research on your genres. Just because something is different than your regular Boom-Bat or 808 roll beats doesnt make it POP.
