It only took two months! Here’s my thing, in some ways, yes, Jay-Z is unfuckwittable, but Jay failed at making a Dynasty. Granted, he put Kanye on, and that is a huge legacy move, but that was actually Dame who saw Kanye’s potential and signed him, Jay just rode with it, and Kanye stayed with him after the split, but still that ain’t a dynasty. That’s one nigga still on from The Roc. That ain’t a dynasty. However, Wayne got Drake, and Nikki, arguably two artists that are the second and third biggest rappers today (I’m not saying which is which) and might even be able to make Cory into something, and even got wack ass tyga bubblin at a level at least comparable to Bleek. Now THAT’s a fucking dynasty. There was definitely a time where it seemed Drake had eclipsed Wayne, but even if that happened, it ultimately would’ve just been another win for Wayne. Not to mention, Drake is putting on The Weeknd, who could very well end up being the premier in his genre. THAT’S A FUCKING DYNASTY.
Of course, niggas say Birdman bought a bunch of copies but what, how many? Maybe 200k? So that shit still sold 800k in it’s first week. And it’s shit, and everyone knew it, BUT IT STILL SOLD. My point is, yeah, maybe Jay is the King, but at this rate, Wayne is undoubtedly the biggest rapper in the game and if he can simply maintain, not even rise, his legacy will be more impressive than Jay’s in many concrete ways.

To even mention what Wayne has with Drake and Nikki as a dynasty is asinine. They only have an album a piece. They have a chance to become that, but as for now that’s premature. Roc-A-Fella dropped it’s 1st album in 96 and had a successful run up until 2003, Platinum plaques every year except 96. DYNASTY!!!

Young Money isn’t as big as the Roc was in it’s heyday. Early 2000’s: Jay was dropping Blueprints and Black Albums, the Diplomats were taking over the streets, Kanye was slowly changing the game, Beyonce was the undisputed Queen, and Just Blaze was introducing himself to the world. But as you can see, all empires rise and fall, so we have several years to go before we see how Young Money stands the test of time. After all, nobody besides Wayne was popular before last year.
As far as a legacy; he has Beyonce as his wife, a child on the way, and more than a billion dollars in the family bank account. Legacies don’t get much more impressive than that.

When comparing Jay-Z and Wayne I think we all need to understand there is a distinction between being the best rapper and being the most popular rapper. Right now Wayne with his Jegging and strumming his guitar is very popular. In my opinion his songs are not structured and if he doesn’t get a handle on that he will die out. Young kids like him but will they grow old with him like my generation did with Jay-Z?
There is no doubt Jay-Z is the best rapper we have right now(although Nas is still my favorite) record sales are not the only measure of greatness. It is one of the ways you measure it but not the only way.
