keyword: assuming. Dont. You end up looking like a clown. The video is a marketing tool, do you understand? A way to sell more songs. understand? If you were a rapper you would be doing the very same thing, you want your passion to sustain some sort of lifestyle. Look at J. Cole, his mainstream songs (songs meant for the radio) have catchy hooks, usually about women, and a beat that when you’re in a car not listening to the lyrics you’re like “damn, work out for me, work out for me.” Then you listen to his album and you hear real hip-hop with gems like rise and shine, gods gift, lost ones. Drake’s doing something very similar. He wants to appeal to a mass audience. Dont judge by what you see, judge by what you hear it’s m-u-s-i-c, get it. You use your ears, get it? Appreciate some of the clever lines, such as:
“Soap opera rappers, all these niggas sound like All My Children.” Its a solid bar, no doubt. Anyway, i have to take a shit.
This is one of Drake’s best videos, top 2 most definitely. This song is catchy and the production is minimal which works for him. Like someone said above, it’s very expected from him “the same ol same” however you know how the saying goes “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” It’s a hit.
This is gonna be the best sophomore album in the history of canadian music.
