The ladies love cool James, and so does Hip-Hop. Last night, Nelly presented LL with the “I Am Hip-Hop Icon” Award during the BET Hip-Hop Awards and Uncle L kicked a freestyle during his speech. Peep it below.

Congrats LL and all the winners. See you next year BET.

My acceptance speech/what I won’t do is try preach/I won’t assume that I am smarter than you and try to teach/What I will do is set an example for you and inspire you to reach for the stars that’s beyond mars that space bars can’t delete/Because without a dream fulfilled your life’s incomplete/A hearst, a limousine without a backseat/the worst, this Usain Bolt without feet/Real life aint Hollywood, it’s Halloween/Every day is trick or treat/It aint a red carpet it’s a bloody sidewalk from the wolves eating red meat/and these spotlights don’t come with money they come with police/Millionaires cry about raising taxes on the elite/they won’t feed us, as they’d rather defeat us/like an aborted fetus/but your greatest feat is to get back up on your feet/Did I mention, life aint a sprint it’s a marathon/Really stressful on your tendons/and with the shape the economy is in today, you better run to the polls like skinny Kenyans/26 miles miles and two hours and three minutes/It wasn’t weeks or months/It took us 400 years to raise the debt limit/So don’t lose faith, there’s a sweet life out there and one day you will taste/And just like any marathon, you must monitor your pace/and watch out for the haters pushing drinks up in your face/maintain your focus through the ups and downs and debates/and when you win your award, make sure you put in a safe place/and be prepared for whatever…just in case.”

    Well said, well written, and filled with relevant information that unfortunately these 90s babies will adhere to for a day or two, if that, then will go back to living their destructive lives.

    children learn and adapt according to their environments. the majority of these problems can be attributed to either a lack or parenting or no parenting at all…

    @room2roam

    We can’t just state that they are products of their environment. That’s the most dismal outlook, it is more ennobling to say that they have personal responsibility. Why presume that they can’t “save” themselves when the truth is they will save the world.

    My acceptance speech that I’ve been working on since I found out that I was getting this award/what I will do is try to preach/I will assume that I am smarter than you cause we all know I am/What I won’t do is set an example for you and tell you to stop having babies, stop getting high, go get a job and stay out of jail/Because without an education your life’s incomplete/A hearst is the ride you’ll end up with as a gangsta wanna be/at best, an old Usain Bolt without feet/Real life aint Hollywood, it’s hard work/Every day is another chore and struggle/It’s not a red carpet it’s a long walk or bus ride to make enough to eat/and these spotlights are meant for those with talent and humility/Millionaires cry about raising taxes on the job makers/the government can’t feed us, as they’d rather lie to us/like millions of aborted black babies/but your greatest feat is to stop blaming others for your life…
