I rock with Cole’s music hard but he mad mediocre on this track. He gotta understand that he is mainstream now & on a Beyonce song he gotta go harder. I doubt if this song blows up he’ll be happy with the verse he laid
Verse wasn’t mediocre really, it was just short. It was cool but I expected a longer verse don’t it was so short.

Going hard on a song like this would be a waste cuz its gonna be on the radio 24/7 and the kids that listen wont understand half the metaphors he throws in it. Cole knows what hes doing. This song will be on the radio all day everyday. Therefore, you need to dumb down your verse to make it easier for the listeners to sing along to. You dont think Cole woulda went harder than that? Have you not heard Looking For Trouble? Beautfiul Bliss? Just Begun? Dude knows when and where to go hard on a track or not. He can adapt.
Im not saying going dumb hard on a track and fitting as many mind bending lyrics into it as possible wouldnt work on this, it prolly would. But listen to andres verse. Simple, yet clever. Thats what you need to appeal to these radio heads. Simple, clever lines. Thats why Wayne suceeds. Everything about him is simple, but clever in some cases. A “Looking For Trouble” verse inst the place for this song.
This is a GOOD LOOK for J. Cole….he spit somethin light. Can’t get too lyrical on a Beyonce song
