    Congrats Wale, DMV stand up!

  11. devante says:

I dont think they give a fuck about the group album the was just platform for Wale, Meek, Pill and Stalley. If it wasnt for that album Wale wouldnt have done 164k and Meek would have verse on everyones song.

  12. devante says:

Ok im done commenting in the morning without proff reading. I sound like a re-re.

  13. pifflighty says:

The album was good i thought it was a complete album he had a hard track like legendary Tats on my arm had the flower bomb sabotage love and the joint wit neyo for the ladies then u got ya insperational songs with (DC or nothing) and (ambition plus ya party song with Miami Nights Soulful track double M Genius it wasnt onesided and he didnt talk about thought provoking subjects the whole time he try to balance it and i think he did good congrats thats good # considering the times we are in now

  14. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

Thoses are good numbers for todays standards. Wale isn’t a Mega superstar like EM. Im not even a MMG groupie or fan like some people *cough* YN. His buzz wasn’t even close to J. Cole but Wale did decent numbers congrats homie.

  15. Chris says:

Yeah for real. Wale moved more than anyone thought he did with just one hot single (That Way) MMG and YMCMB continue to move units…

  16. Slim says:

    @tshiamofs

Do you know anything about music in today’s landscape? Obviously not by your comment. GTFOH son.

  17. The Truth says:

FLOP, FLOP, FLOP. Yall niggas sound stupid saying well for todays standard those are good numbers, um no the fuck its not. Talking about he don’t have a buzz like J. Cole well he should by now I mean fuck its his sophomore album. The truth if the music good music people will buy it like Adele, The Throne, Drake, Beyonce etc… Ambition was a boring ass album. Don’t ask me how Wayne sells he one of few who puts shity music out and still does numbers.

  18. B says:

U niggas sound stupid saying it flopped selling over 160 and debuting at #2 on the overall billboard in it’s first week. Salute to Wale and MMG

  19. Finlay says:

thats a good look for Wale..

  21. Justin's Bieber says:

Cole World had a buzz? His radio single just now went mainstream.. Coles numbers were from fans that have been with him since the beginning of time, on my J’s son gon’ only get better with time.

  22. Justin's Bieber says:

And good lookin out for Wale, not a fan, but not a hater either…

  23. .... says:

    Well said!

  27. Jigga man says:

Album of the year and im not even a wale fan ,

    Get at me nerds!!

  28. The Truth says:

And I’m tired of these rappers pushing there albums back cuz there scared of low of low record sales and blame it on sample clearence or other politic bullshit. I say all new school rapper who are talking about taking the throne and saying there here to stay do this. Drake, J. Cole, Wale, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifia should all drop their next album on the same day and we see really running this shit. But of course they won’t niggas scared to step up. Make a statement in hip-hop don’t just be a fucking pawn on the chess board.

  30. The Truth says:

Add Mac Miller too when he sign his major label deal

  31. @tshiamofs says:

Mac Miller is white, he wont win! He can spit his soul out a sell 10 million in the first week…the success is gonna be associated with his colour. And more so, he is gonna get compared to Em, which is unfair coz Em doesnt compete

  32. Kwamé says:

Just proud of a fellow african ,o.album is a 4/5.

  33. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

@the truth sound like a bitter babymama. Stop your bitching.

  34. Brooklyn says:

@the truth Dats some real shit. But I doubt those artist would drop there album on the same day, they don’t want there feelings hurt by record sales. Drake would win tho. J. Cole and Wiz would be right behind him in sales.

  35. Subaru says:

    albums sounds good

    good #’s for wale

  36. Word says:

Album was dope. Great fanbase > Hit singles. Wale has very good singles but only in the Hip Hop realm. No Top40 type shit but he sold well off the strength of his fambase. I actually expected more because dude has like 2mil twitter followers and they all talk about him all the time and etc etc but more than quadrupling ur previous album sales is a great feat.

Everybody shitting on Big Sean by the way. Fuck boy only did 80k. Lowest out of all his peers this year, and HE has mpre hits.

  37. Me Shun says:

I wasn’t a Wale fan until I heard this album. His first was eh eh but Ambition is dope. Hats off to Mr. Folarin and MMG.

  38. 954broward says:

impressive 4 2day’s standards. god forgives i don’t will prolly go 300 first week and shud end up platinum within a month

  39. Nahh says:

DMV stand the fuck up. Haters eat a dick

  40. pap3rchazer says:

I been a fan of Wale since his More About Nothing mixtape(all time favorite), I copped the album n saw him perform in NYC last week with MMG. Track after track, this album was very solid! I’m glad he’s getting his shine now that he’s off interscope!

  41. Keith says:

Congrats to Wale. His success is well deserved.

  42. […] to him, MMG, and WMG. Now, let’s get ready for the full court Rick Ross promo run. Shouts to Rap Radar. Signiture718Related posts:News: Want Spotify? Get a Facebook Page First!News: Young Jeezy's […]

  43. M.T says:

Ambition was aight but only worth 1 listen. Surprisingly it did some good numbers. God Forgives, I Dont will do around the same if not less.

  44. derek says:

This nigga really did his thing in line with take care 700+

  45. KILLA says:

I’m gonna have to disagree with your first sentence @M.T but I feel the same with that last sentence. For some reason while people listen to Rick Ross he doesn’t have a movement. It’s just people to me that are like I like this song let me buy the album.

  46. HeliofromSirius says:

Gotta check this fresh new artist out called Johnny B.e. Gotta respect the homie on his craft:

  47. TheCool says:

I’m not a Wale hater or fan. I only heard his features on Coles mixtapes. But anything 100k is good these days, and whoever disagrees is a hating ass beeeeiiitch.

Yu can’t compare artists just coming up like Cole and Wale, to monsters like Hov, Em or Wayne. Em only did around 200k first week with his debut. His later albums is when he did a milli first week. Hov did even less first week with Reasonable Doubt I think, now he’s always moving big units. And it took Wayne how many albums to do big numbers first week? 3-6 albums? (i don’t really know his discography)

The only artist that I could think of (although 50 did this to i think, i don’t remember) now that moved big numbers with a debut first week was Drake. But that’s cuz he’s a different type of artist. Those R&B/Pop-ish tracks def appeal to more people then a straight rap song would. The females love ’em and they even crossover to some Pop fans. (I’m not knocking Drake at all. I like his R&B shit to, it bumps).

    So good looks Wale.

  48. Truth says:

brick, no #1s, get out the game sellout

  49. Jay says:

    Ambition >>>>>> Take Care

    — signed a Drake Fan

    Go WALE! MMG!

  50. Chan says:

Ok just gave Ambition a listen and I want to break the album and light it on fire. What the hell happened to Wale? I love everything prior to and including Attention Deficit. I actually loved Attention Deficit. I take that back I somewhat enjoyed More About Nothing. I think this is the point were you can see Wales style starting to change. Whatever the case maybe (fame, money, maturity, Rick Ross) something has changed Wale for the worst. His new album was a painful listen for true Wale fan. I am deleting it from iTunes directly after I post this blog. We want more of the old Wale, not this new corporate sell out. Until then you have lost a friend. Another great example how fake rap i.e. Rick Ross is ruining the rap game. I can’t wait to see what he does to Stalleys career.

  51. Ray says:

Those numbers are good in today’s economy. That’s over a 100 thousand people who purchased your album when they could have easily downloaded it for free.lol Not to mention Wale only had 1 hit single on the radio which was “That Way”.Anyone who has something negative to say about his record sales is simply a hater.Wale went from nothing to something because his last album went wood but on another note what’s up with these rappers dropping these mellow rnb type of albums? That Drake album was full of whining and Wale album was slow too.

  52. Andre says:

To answer Chan Wale’s last album didn’t sell bro. He’s in the MUSIC BUSINESS and HE DOES MUSIC TO MAKE MONEY.This is his livelihood and what he does to eat so naturally he had to adjust and change his style up a little bit to appeal to a broader audience and apparently it worked because he moved units this time around. In my opinion I like the new Wale. He’s more diverse but on his album he put too many slow songs on it.I’m from The DMV and that “Bait” song was dope.I like how he mixed the gogo into the song.

  53. igEtMoney says:

Why did they put that Stalley guys album out without any promotion? his career is dead before it even started.lmao Wale is good to me but I agree wit every body else.Way too many slow songs.Hip Hop is dead or it’s on it’s last limbs and how is 160,000 units it’s first week considered a fail? who ever said that is an idiot.Just look at Akon’s first week record sales back when he came out and now that man is a millionaire moving hella units.
