Drake Returns To Hot 97 (Angie Martinez)

Drake returned to Angie Martinez’s show this afternoon on NY’s Hot 97. This was pre-recorded, so no talk of “you-know-who”. Balloons!

Break 1: Drake spoke on the crazy in store signing lines in Toronto and Harlem.

Break 2: Drake on Take Care criticism, Rihanna and lavender showers.

Break 3: More critic talk and singing with William Morris Agency.

    Get em Drizzy.

  • Cali

Shit needs to sell 1 million not 600k or 700k.

    Its better than WTT

  • mbreezy

ask drake he dont want it luda nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • man

Drake will reply to that Luda nonsense, bet

  • Nahh

    @black shady. No. It’s not.
The beats in watch the throne can’t be touched by take care beats. Watch the throne is an actual hip hop album…it doesn’t have soft,r&b ballads like take care does and drake is always a middle of the pack rapper. He’s not one of the best. People can just relate to his shit so he gets hype. Watch the throne is much better than take care, and I actually like take care

  • Fuck Ya Life

I hear he’s bout to sell 675k to 725k so congrats for that I thought it was a great album.

  • Time4SumAction

This is truly an R&B album like Drake said it would be. After opening day sales Drake is projected to do 650-700k first week.

  • Sportz

Projected to sell 675k-725k first week. Young Money stays winning.

  • Geez

Yeah It’s BETTER than Watch The Throne

  • Kunlay

the album is dope…but def an rb joint..

  • Awesome

    WTT= HipHop
    Take Care= R&B

  • WhoaThere

I hate how rap media figures are taking their cues from the internet now…all this talk about “people are saying you sing too much” and stuff, and not once mentioning how it’s receiving almost universal glowing reviews and on pace to be the third biggest opening all year behind his boss and Gaga

  • lol @ new rappers think they started something

    big bada boom 🙂

  • Hub City Hoe

What sense would it make for Drake to respond to Luda. From the songs it sounds like he’s going at Sean not, Drake (drake never once said he invented that stuff)…people are just trying to force Drake into the equation because…being honest, without him, who cares about the whole ordeal. Nobody actually cares what Luda has to say about anything in 2011, they are just pretending they do so they can whine about Drake somehow. Notice how there was absolute ZERO interest or buzz for Luda’s lil mixtape until people forced Drake into this stuff with him and Sean. He shouldn’t say anything and a week from now when people stop pretending like they care, it’s a non issue

  • omegasupreme914

  • Your mother’s “friend”

@Hub City Hoe True story i listened to the Track & i didn’t see where he was goin at drake, but i guess sean’s name isn’t enough to get a decent buzz

  • Word

Nobody cares about Luda in 2011? Do you know how many pop hits he’s on? Now he bout to be back on his hip hop shit and hopefully off that Supa blah blah blah flow.

    Album still called Ludaversal right?

  • M.T

i hate angie’s voice. This interview was terrible. Anyways people are always criticizing drake because he sings too much yet thats one of the things that makes him unique and its what makes stand out from these other artist. The album has great production and dope lyrics and its set to be the third highest first week sales so Drakes winning right now.

  • m1

@Black u r a jack ass luda will chew him and lil shawn and they will accept it like the hoes thy are.Oh and take care is garbage if u are a straight male liking that shit you are gay or bi curious point blank.

  • Pugz

@m1 I have never heard anything more ignorant in my life. Reread your comment, it is completely ignorant and ridiculous as well as not making any goddamn sense. You can’t be straight and gay at the same time idiot. Even if someone is gay, why does that make their taste in music any different? Grow up. Album is great, possibly AOTY.

  • Hip-Hop Fiend

Drizzy run the game right now him and Cole. When Drake said his favorite rappers fell off on “Dreams Money Can Buy” I think he was talking about Ludacris and 50 Cent. obvisiouly no Hov and Em cause they aint fell off yet.

  • Loaded

Take Care received general acclaim from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 84, based on 22 reviews, which indicates “universal acclaim”.[57] Rolling Stone writer Jon Dolan complimented its “luxe, expansive production” and stated, “Drake stretches out over languid, austerely plush tracks that blur hip-hop, R&B and downtempo dance music.”[24] Jesal Padania of RapReviews called it “accomplished” and commended Drake’s musical direction, stating “he’s attempt to captain a unified sound, culminating in a consistent album

  • yzeeh

THese niccas cant interview for shit. No question was brought up about the content of the album.. Was he taking shots at Hov & Ye.. How he feels about the luda track. When he’s droppin YOLO. How he felt about WTT. etc….

  • ZoomZoomDad-Otis

Donn the biggest drake groupie. Mrs. Donn Graham in a few months.

  • i hate that spic voice too. dj envy is the best fuck flex

  • Y U MAD

Congratulation to Drake YMCMB for pushing 600k first week. Can J Cole fans please stop saying Drake and J Cole run hip hop haha. Dude(Cole World) pushed 200K first week, as far as i am concerned nigga is still in Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and them’s category. Drake is now on another level period

  • Cali

Co-sign Y U MAD. J. Cole is fucking on Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa’s level. 700k is weak though since Thank Me Later sold 400k.

  • Willie_mcfly22

Dnt put this album on at 2am after the club n u goin home alone. Shit will fuck u up. Jus sayin..

  • bob

this goes to show that c4 numbers were fabricated drake delivered a way better album and is on track to sell only 600-700k with way more buzz than wayne had and stop with the WTT comparisons because WTT was iconic watch the videos of the tour look at the impact its having C4 and Take Care will do better numbers and be forgotten about within a year

  • Cali

Wait, Why is it predicted to sell 700k in only it’s first day? That means Billboard ain’t compiling first week sales. Those fucking white idiots.

  • man

nobody thinks he was sending shots at Hov or Ye so why would they ask that… but the rest yeah they probably shouldve asked about haha

  • Donn

Who cares about him taking shots, whose dissing who, just enjoy the music. Y’all doing too much, its not that serious. You like the dude or u don’t like em’, he’s been around that long for u to decide

  • Word

@Y U MAD….Ummmm, why you mad? Drake stans competing for dick space. Its disgusting. Cole, Wale, Drake all took the music industry by storm these last couple months with great singles, good sales for all of them, and great reviews. Whats the point of just singling out Drake? Get off the dude nuts. Its not that serious.
