First off, I agree w/ @StraightSlutty MyG…I’m from the DMV also. Secondly, I agree w/ this song being on the list…but I actually think it should’ve been higher. This is easily one of his biggest records to date…it was trending on twitter for at least a week when it initially leaked…I didn’t even like it at first, but it definitely grows on you. Just another sign of Wale’s versatility
Wale has made PLENTY of hits last year effortlessly. That Way was a hit, then he immediately followed that up with another hit like Lotus Flower Bomb. PLENTY of street hits and local hits around the DMV area. Quit hating my man

@Dc’s Finest “DMV” is D.C., Maryland, and Virginia…”MoCo” is Montgomery County, a county in Maryland and “P.G.” is Prince George’s County, another county in Maryland
so im guessing there all close together?
Wale is doing his thing no doubt, but Montgomery County is not “dc area”. Yes Wale went to school in MoCo, but he is still from DC, Peabody area I believe or somewhere around there.
And Gogo was still known outside before Wale, (Chuck Brown anyone?) Wale just pushed the vehicle further.

True how could i forget chuck brown, but moco is dc area(silverspring?) even though Gburg and Rockville are kinda further out, they are still Dc metro areas. there clothing,slang,etc is all influenced by us.

the thing is over that side of maryland doesn’t have as many rough spots as PG or us here in DC
so i guess people feel wale is trying to portray something he isn’t.
@StraightSlutty which is sad because Wale has stated multiple times in interviews and in his music that he doesn’t claim to be a thug…he’s seen/been through his fair share of hardships, but he doesn’t try to come off like a d-boy or anything
