Trapped in the 90s? Well luckily for you, Nas reunites with Large Professor on this record off his forthcoming set, Life Is Good. Sounds like Esco is on the right track.

  20. hxxvaz says:

This shit better get more comments than that weak Rick Ross song. Nas ain’t playin wit niggas!!!!!

  21. AFRICANBOY says:

Just went to a listening session of the whole album at Universal France office in Paris, 1st hal of the album is the best i’d say, 2nd half is more mellow with a lotta singers handlin the hooks but Bye baby is nice, really talkin about his relationship with Kelis even mentionning her spazzin out in Miami, it’s mature hip hop overall, Rozay stans won’t like it

  22. west says:

    my gawwwd.dope

  23. dopefiend says:

    GOT DAMMMMMMMMMNNNNNN!!!!! THIS IS INSANE!!!!!

  24. rahrahrah says:

Listening to the song again. It’s not that great, it’s just so much better than the trash that is coming out. I see why he says it’s for his trapped in the 90’s niggas. It’s because he’s done this before, and he’s probably done it better, so he’s going back and doing something that he can do effortlessly. But he’s right it’s not progress. He brags about people who tell their girls he scared them. he says he has rubies instead of diamonds. He says something blasphemous about God, having dirty pictures of God. He says how much reefer he smokes and that he sleeps with your girl because she’s trifling…

He says it all well and in a clever way and flows the only way Nas can, but again it’s not music that I can celebrate with family. Not like Distant Relatives. Some of the lines are nice but not enough?

  25. Brahsef says:

As a teen I made 17000 livin in public housin. Absolute heat with a monster beat. This is an illmatic level track

  26. Mac Diesallllll! says:

NAs killed it Top 5 dead or Alive

  27. PPrrootteesstt says:

    …What? The beat is trash.

  28. Brahsef says:

@rahrahrah Boastin been in raps since forever. Some of us liked to get geeked up when listenin to rap

And if you can’t hear the introspective shit in the 1st verse you’re just not listening

  29. Truu says:

Nasty, The Don, Daughters, Accident murderers, Locomotive. Nasir is 5 for 5 deep. The best to ever do it.

  30. Brahsef says:

    errr 2nd verse.

  31. required says:

love nas , not feeling this shit NEXT

  32. ckriminal says:

This is fire. only problem i have with Life is Good is the weak album cover. all of his singles are dope tho

  33. Donn says:

People want rap music to be ONE sided and that’s what keeps the genre from getting as much light as it deserves

People want every rapper to sound like Nas and Eminem. Dudes wanna go to the club and hear Talib Kweli and Mos Def lmao.

Like why can’t niggas listen to EVERYBODY and appreciate all different styles. Always wanna divide the culture. Nas is dope and we have all known that for YEARS. Its nothing new. I expect greatness from a nigga that’s been the game as long as he has

It’s something about new cats that is more interesting cus u get a chance to watch another star grow into a legend from the bottom. That’s why nothing Nas or Jay does excites me anymore

  34. Get Real says:

This album better win some awards dammit!!! #WinnerWinner

  35. ckriminal says:

Album of the year will either go to Nas or 50

  36. WACKJUICE says:

^^^TRUUUUUU…. NAS STILL GOT IT !!! EVERYTHING HES DROPPED LATELY HAS BEEN SUPER DOPE…IM DEFINITELY COPPING THIS SHIT

  37. ckriminal says:

    @Donn

The problem is a lot of these new rappers ain’t droppin dope music how people like Nas, Jay Z and Eminem was doing when they were younger. It’s just too much average music now days

  38. naseef says:

  41. Tbones says:

@African boy, wat u doing in Paris? I thought u was in Lagos or sm ishh like dat? lol. But if u serious abt being at the listening session, wat did Cherry wine and Summer on smash sound like, peeps that heard em hyping both tracks like crazy? Hola.

  42. M.T says:

“It’s something about new cats that is more interesting cus u get a chance to watch another star grow into a legend from the bottom.”
    ^
more like you want to dickride whoever is hot and has buzz and diminish the fact that he/she is dropping garbage cuz thats what u and alot of niggas are doing today.

  43. rahrahrah says:

    @Brahsef

I said it was clever, I said it’s not that great, what I said is that he’s saying stuff I’ve heard him say quite a few times before, and that I can’t recommend this or listen to this with my family. Yeah he has some positive things in there, that’s Nas. He’s not a ignoramous.

Listen to illuminati by Homeboy sandman, that’s something I can recommend to my dad, and the kids I tutor. It’s just beautiful. I can recommend Patience with Nas and Damian Marley to my kids, and my Dad as well. I’m just saying that this is not something I’m going to run and recommend to anyone.

Listen to Impossible by Wu-Tang. I typed that shit out and was trying to break it down like Revelations to people. All I’m saying is that this is some B or B+ work, but it isn’t any more than that.

  92. ASLICE2HOT says:

So much to write and say, yo I dont know where to start
So Ill begin with the basics and flow from the heart
I know you think my life is good cause my diamond piece
But my life been good since I started finding peace…..

    Been Nasty since 1991….

  93. ROOFOFMYMOUTH says:

    Intro]
    42nd street terminal

    [Verse 1: Nas]
Yo, yo, I live it and I speak it
    My religion is reefer
Big money in most, an uninhibited freak to sleep with
My visions are realistic, nothings figurative
I can wish it into existence, God want this nigga to live
Blunt big as a dread, I get high and forget who bled
Who we stomp-kicked in the head and who we left for dead
Who are you niggas? Why argue niggas?
The truth is the truth, I really put my scars on niggas
They wait a lifetime, they tell they hoes, Nas did this
Pointin to they scars like, Right here, baby, really Nas did this
Like a badge of honor, not braggin Im just honest
War stories we tell them, nothins realer than karma
    Sip prohibition liquor, prohibition whiskey
Rap Jack Demsey, Matt Black Bentley, pimply
Shatterin your silence, pass around the chalice
Due to my Indian ancestry at the weed dispensery
Official kings and gents is who I mix and mingle with
Fuck your ice, I rock rubies, amethyst
I fuck your wife cause she a groupie, scandalous
This for my bad hood bitches, ghetto glamorous

    [Break: Large Professor]
Yo, what we talkin bout niggas?
    What we talkin bout niggas?
    This is Nas, what, Nas
    What, Nasty, what, recollect,

    [Verse 2: Nas]
At seventeen I made seventeen thousand livin in public housin
    Integrity in tact, reppin hard
They askin how he disappear and reappear back on top
Sayin, Nas must have naked pictures of God or somethin
To keep winnin is my way like Francis
As long as Im breathin, Ill take chances
A soldier comin home, twenty years old with no legs
Sayin theres no sense to cry and complain, just go head
So much to write and say, yo I dont know where to start
So Ill begin with the basics and flow from the heart
I know you think my life is good cause my diamond piece
But my life been good since I started finding peace
I shouldnt even be smilin, I should be angry and depressed
I been rich longer than I been broke, I confess
I started out broke, got rich, lost paper then made it back
Like Trump bein up down up, play with cash

    [Large Professor]
    My niggas like a locomotive
Nas, we push it, mush em
    Queensbridge to Bushwick
    Harlem, Bronx, all that
You aint even supposed to be out here
    You know where you at?

    Verse 3: Nas]
At night, New York, eat a slice too hot
Use my tongue to tear the skin hangin from the roof of my mouth
Shit was Falicimo, melted pot, city sweltering hot
Staggerin drunker than those cops that 2pac shot
I was a crook by the train with that iron thing, concealed
Reachin, soon as I heard them iron wheels screechin
When it came to a halt whoever walked off got caught
Toker man safe behind a locked door for sure
Minor theif shit, minor league shit, beastin
Lookin for the young, but now we older chiefin
In my truck, play The Greatest Adventures of Slick Rick
Buggin on how his imagination was so sick
Its ghetto beef, sinister niggas snicker through yellow teeth
Alchohol agin my niggas faster than felonies
How dare I? Must be, somethin in the air that corrupts me
Look at my upkeep, owned and sublease
    Im here yall

    [Outro]
This for my trapped in the 90s niggas
For my trapped in the 90s niggas

  94. […] Nas, Large Professor and NO ID lace up a pre-metrocard NYC subway token experience for “my trapped in the ’90s n*ggas” on this beast of a track called “Loco-Motive.” Life Is Good drops July 17th! (spotted @ RapRadar) […]
