If I’m not mistaken, K. Dot has the highest 1st week sales of any hip hop artist this year…. A huge accomplishment especially at the fact it’s not full of “radio” singles and “hit” records… it’s a story from front to back, album of substance and still held it’s own…. GREAT FOR HIP HOP…. as far as Taylor’s sales…. bound to happen!

Few months ago I didn’t expect him to do this well but as I heard the album, and as it came closer to album time, I expected him to do close to Coles numbers. Didn’t expect him to top Cole but I gotta give him credit for topping Cole sales and quality wise cuz GKMC is an amazing album, and the type of quality I expected from Coles debut ( although I still enjoy his album).
GKMC shows that ppl still buy hip hop without the lead pop single. Just put the album out and trust ur fan base. I honestly expected under 100k from Kendrick months ago and I’m glad he did this well.
Now, I also expect Meek to do well.
I’ll give Meek Wales first week numbers as a over/under. Anywhere over that won’t surprise me (unless its past 250k).
