’12 Best Guest Verses: #3 Jay-Z “3 Kings”

Since stepping into fatherhood with “Glory”, it was a minute since we heard from Hov. But on “3 Kings” he reaffirms his G.O.A.T  status while giving an update on his current state of affairs. Daughter Blue Ivy? She’s good (“Niggas couldn’t fuck with my daughter’s room/Niggas couldn’t walk in my daughter’s socks”) Record deal? Show me the money! (“I ran through that buck 50 Live Nation fronted me”) Nets ownership? (“Ex D-boy, used to park my Beemer/Now look at me, I can park at my own arena”) Even TJ Maxx was tuned in. When you add it all up, it’s, well, just different.

  1. haaannn (French voice) says:

Lol, deff a good verse,, wouldnt say top 5. practically just talking about his money the whole verse with the exception of his daughter. i like the beat better than any of these verses to be honest

  2. it's the roc says:

even though it’s unfair why it’s this high, i agree. if jay was anybody else and all this shit he talked about didnt make sense to everybody because we didnt know so much about him, it wouldnt be that great of a verse. i’m surprised it wasnt his clique verse that you guys picked, but i guess clique already got a look in the beats list so couldnt put it twice

  3. Joe Lake says:

hahaha, jay did that verse while changing hhs first diaper I’m the booth

  4. PT Onassis says:

    The xL Eighty bike tho…

  5. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

TJ Maxx gave Jay-Z a shout out after Jay was talking about them on “3 Kings”.

  6. Nathaniel says:

this verse wasn’t better than that “Sorry” verse from Andre 3000 niggas. no way no how. no matter how you slice it and dice it. cut it and paste it. roll it and fold it. n other shit like that.

  7. Nathaniel says:

it was dope though… he stunted in classic hov fashion. and it sounded like joe said above, he was in mid diaper change.

  8. Joe Lake says:

It was very good tho, “niggas couldn’t walk in my daughters socks”

  9. ... says:

Is it an age thing ..cuz i dont think jays verses are that dope to me..u guys rate who its coming from more then metaphors and wit ..Cuz no one fucks wit drake on that tip

  10. Nathaniel says:

but you can’t separate the verse or its content from the rapper spitting it. all that goes into the verse. niggas be like “if it wasn’t jay, but some OTHER rapper, niggas wouldn’t even think the verse was that cold bro” ….stfu. if it wasn’t Jay, it wouldn’t even be THAT verse. cuz it’s a Jay verse, about Jay’s life that we’ve watched play out. so, we like hearing his musical take on what’s going on with him, etc. i don’t understand how niggas minds be workin’ out here.

  11. Dashing says:

Its eminently quotable even it’s not an unbelievable verse. You could argue that it’s not even the best guest verse on that GFID album (see Andre on “Sixteen” and Nas on “Triple Beam Dreams” ) but it’s more memorable because Ross set the stage to make this song “an event song” even if it didn’t completely live up to the hype.

  12. Ricflair says:

Come on son that verse was weak extra light for jay

  13. Devante says:

Lol this verse is top 5 based on the fact he shouted out Max B

  14. haaannn (French voice) says:

just a heads up Rap Radar.. if #1 is a Rick Ross verse, I promise that I will accuse Elliott Wilson of rape on the C.O. due to the dick riding he has done to him with Rozay’s authorized consent.

  15. LikeJordan45 says:

The opinions of those running this site really fucking suck. Most Hov fans will acknowledge this isn’t even a hard verse.

  16. RoeLuv says:

“Taking her places you can’t go on your per diem”

  17. Ricflair says:

@ haaaan I think bdot is the one to blame lol

  18. PT Onassis says:

You all know, Big Sean’s verse on Clique will be #1, he bodied that track.

  19. sic says:

can’t be serious, this verse is trash

  20. PT Onassis says:

Well damn.. they chose his verse from Burn..

  21. JAY'S VERSE says:

JUST SAID IT HIMSELF THAT SHIT WAS JUST A FREESTYLE. SMDH

  22. Ramel says:

Y’all are lame for this…It’s not a terrible verse at all, but it’s way overhyped and overrated.

  23. Beaming says:

Please tell me what you trolls dont hate on? Who TF yall listen to?

Yall a bunch of justin beber in the closet fans

  24. the brain trust says:

Loool. B. Dot. B.dot. You couldn’t help but dickride could you?

This verse was incredibly mundane. Lazy delivery, slurred speech, predictable rhyme schemes, tedious subject matter (Jay rapping about riches? What a surprise!)

  25. adrian says:

this verse is hard. it takes skill to freestyle with that much clarity and storytelling quality

  26. BBGUN says:

    Haha “GOAT Status”
You wish Bdot. He’s about 100 mill short.

  27. KillaK says:

Meh. Jay just mumbles on about nothing. Really nothing special

  28. That Guy says:

@B.Dot, rapping about materialism doesn’t make any verse good, especially if it’s not delivered cleverly. If Bill gates wrote a verse on “3 Kings” and bragged about how he’s worth more than Jay Dre. and Ross combined, that wouldn’t make it good. You shouldn’t let your partiality cloud your decision-making for RR. Andre 3K’s verse was honest and creative and should definitely be ranked higher thank Jay’s.

  29. bumpy johnson says:

    verse was dope and memerable

  30. mac DIESEL says:

OH SHIT, THIS WASN’T JAY’S SONG??!!! NEVER KNEW RICKY WAS ON THIS SONG!!!! COMPLETELY FORGOT!!!!

    …………HA!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  31. tucq says:

I liked his “clique” verse more. “HE NEVA TOLD/WHO HE GON TELL/WE ON TOP OF THE TOTEM POLE/ITS THE DREAM TEAM/MEETS THE SUPREME TEAM/AND ALL OUR EYES GREEN/ONLY MEANS ONE THING/U AIN’T FUCKIN WITH THE CLIIIIIIIIIIIQUE

  32. the One says:

    It’s just different…

  33. Justin TIme says:

The verse was dope but the significance is that it’s all true. The “park at my own arena”, “had a grill in ’88”, “take her to places u cant go with ur per diem”..these lines are dope because unlike most rappers who stunt on tracks…he actually has done this.

  34. LondonD says:

This was the worst verse of the three? Y’all bugging on this one.

  36. 5 years ago XXL fired Elliott Wilson for to much dicksucking and he later had throat problems for swallowing too much sperm says:

THIS SITE IS RUN BY SOME CLOWNS

  37. Larco says:

    JAY-Z’s verse on Clique > 3 Kings.
Also. Nas’ verse from Triple Beam

  38. lilrizq says:

“They workin on anotha deal they talkin 250…. I’m holdin out for 3, 275 and I just might agree.” Jay sounds like he actually is having a boss conversation with whoever’s listen. you can learn alot about business listening to his verses. Dope choice, now look at this video I edited for my homie “The Voice”.

  39. bewildered says:

why do you guys dick ride so much. This was throwaway verse and yall like this shit? Hov played in has ass immensely on this joint. Im dissapointed that this would be in the top 5. I would rather here the clique verse than this one.
