The Bay don’t play—and that’s no lie. According to TMZ, 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint yesterday afternoon in San Francisco. Shots were reportedly fired during the incident.

We’re told when they got to the scene, 2 Chainz  wasn’t cooperative … saying he wanted to handle it  himself. Chainz told police his wallet was stolen and that’s all that happened.

No word yet on which party fired the shots, but there is surveillance footage of the incident captured. Last night, 2 Chainz performed at Oakland’s 106 KMEL Summer Jam as scheduled.

UPDATE: San Francisco police tells Radio.com that a member of his entourage was the actual victim, but hours later confirm 2 Chainz was the victim. 2 Chainz took to Twitter to react to the reports.

Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch , money etc. 2 answer that question. UPDATE 2: 2 Chainz visited Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 today and discussed the robbery in detail. He also reacted to the footage that surfaced yesterday.

“I saw the gun first. It was like a .357. It was so heavy he couldn’t really hold it. The gun was so big. That’s what made me take off running. When I went into the street, there was another dude with a whole ‘nother gun. That’s when I knew it wasn’t like an episode of Punk’d. I was like this is real…I had bullet fragments in my hair…I think he thought he shot me. I’m just excited about life. I’m so turnt up, you can’t turn me down. I’m just geeked about life. Then when I saw the footage, I’m like it was real. They was on my ass! This was a sign. That’s all it was. I come from this.”
