ESGN wasn’t my speed. Listening to Questlove on NPR and he said that rappers peak on their 3rd albums usually. People don’t know how much this mixtape circuit burns good rappers out. It’s too much work to provide substandard crap fro mixtapes and then do LPs that are going to be classics. Imagine Pink Floyd having to do mixtape nonsense. I feel Gibbs quality has gone downstream. He needs to be making cohesive bodies of work with good content, introspective stuff not just this AAA gangsta. I had hoped that with the Fred Hampton tatto he would be about uplifting, also with songs like “In the Ghetto”. Dude has a lot of talent, keep looking for him to hit.
