Huge Busta fan since PTA. Mini rant in 3,2,1….

I remember the days when the name Busta Rhymes was synonymous with originality, craziness, weird beats, crazy flows and energy.

Now it’s just not the same. He’s on that “do what everyone else is doing” shit instead of crafting his own sound. I don’t like hearing him hop on these kinds of beats and I don’t know anyone who does. “The Abstract and the The Dragon” had some promise, but it was mostly old joints that only further make my point that he shouldn’t be trying to do this other shit. His best joints never sounded like anyone else in the world could rap on them. “Put Your Hands Where my Eyes Can See” “Dangerous” “Gimme Some More” “Break Ya Neck”

At one point I heard he was gonna do a record with Dan the Automator. That woulda been cool. Why didn’t that happen? Why doesn’t he link with MF Doom or MadLib and go in a completely different direction than everyone, even just for 1 tape. (see Freeway and Girl Talk, Run the Jewels, etc) He’s 1 of the few MCs that can hop on literally any beat in the world, and that’s his gift and curse.

And while we’re at it, Busta needs to drop a bomb-ass album before trying to push these third tier artists from Conglomerate on us. no way i’m checking for these cats if the boss of the shit is not delivering. Please let the powers be stage a Matthew mcconaughey style comeback for Busta Rhymes.

    Rant over.
