Run the Jewels 2 is by far one of the most over-hyped and over-rated albums that I have ever heard. People call this a classic and yet the album failed to top the charts. What a disappointment this album is! The lyrics really aren’t that great. The beats are downright terrible and that’s usually what makes a classic. You people should be ashamed to think this album is worthy of the praise it’s received.

    1. marty mcfly says:

I don’t think their album needs to top the charts to be a classic cause most of the classic albums in Hip Hop weren’t exactly chart topping. I haven’t heard their album so I don’t know what it sounds like but I think a big reason why people like them is because their music isn’t just dumbed down bullshit which is what alot of the more popular Hip Hop songs these days are.

Your taste and analysis of artistry is just shitty is the only problem. These two have both been making excellent music for decades. And your criticisms are just off and unfounded.

      1. redrummmer says:

Nah the beats are ass.. Even on the first cd. But Mike Bigga almost made this album worth

  3. the problem with el-ps production is it works with his style of rhyming anybody else sounds like trash mike lyrically is on point but the beat is messing up mikes flow hope next album they ll bring in some better producers that will compliment mikes lyrical talent

    1. 55:16 says:

The problem with your brain is it doesn’t work, fucking pussy ass nigga!

      1. tell your mother ill be over there later to change the water in her dish

    2. Dafuq says:

        1. Goodness Gracious says:

I remember the day in July 1997 when I bought Funcrusher Plus on CD from The Virgin Megastore in Times Square. I was listening to Co Flow and Wu Tang Forever back to back. Still bumping Funcrusher till this day!!

          1. me too this may sound crazy i still listen to those albums still to this day i swear those albums never get old you got to check out co flow first song juvenile techniques

          2. Goodness Gracious says:

          4. spliffjones says:

thats what a classic album is. when your 50 your going to be playing that album.. classic. its hard for rap to have them come around nowadays.. schoolboy q habits and contradictions is the one from my most recent memory.. kendrick might been section 80 but those two acts both didnt live up to what could have been for their major debut albums.

          5. thats true because look at albums are made now you got to have your radio singles you got to have your club banger singles and thats not leaving any room to be creative yeah no doubt i never get tired of listening to those classic albums

  4. david says:

Rap Radar comment section… The vast majority of the comments here reveal a tendency for the deeply uneducated to speak the loudest and most frequent. Run the Jewels is great hip hop. Go read the Pitchfork review. They do a great job explaining why.

  5. Dafuq says:

This was dope. Good to see them on the national stage. Both albums have been super on point.

  6. Goodness Gracious says:

Good to see Killa Mike and El-P getting national attention! I was riding with El-P since 96/97 when he was doing Company Flow

  7. Curtis75Black says:
