No, there are more then three loves songs on Cole’s album and all of his projects have a continuos stream of “love songs” or pandering to females throughout with some of the softest Hip Hop I’ve ever heard.
I know this was days ago but being completely real, there really aren’t any “love songs” on Cole’s last album, I don’t think there were any love songs on Born Sinner either. Even Power Trip wasn’t a love song, he was really talking about Hip Hop.
The only song on his last album that could almost fall into the category is Wet Dreams but just because it was a song about losing his virginity but you really can’t lump Cole into that love song, soft rap shit. He ain’t Drake, their is emotion there but it ain’t some feminine shit. Cole at least raps from his perspective and gives you a relatable experience that a broad set of people go through, whether Thug, street, ratchet or college educated. I can’t discount that.
I know Cole ain’t for everybody but Cole isn’t even some super famous rapper. Most of his fans he acquired through mixtapes, shows and bars and bars of relatable content. For me Cole is superior because they not trying to force feed Cole’s music on you, if you like it, you’ll fuck with it, if you don’t, you don’t but his shit is nice enough for him to be in the conversation about who is the best from the new school and that says something.

To alot of shit on his albums, its an extreme level of pandering to females with soft ass, cliche, watered down bitch ass shit that I call “love songs” dude. I understand if people disgree with my choice of words in the situation because I can be blunt but its like a never ending “love song” with J Cole imo. He constantly finds a way to pander to the emotions of a bitch almost every time he raps.
I hear you loud and clear but we are absolutely going to have to agree to disagree because he isn’t pandering to females most of the time in my opinion. I’m really not sure what exactly you’re listening too. I honestly feel like at most, about 10% of Cole’s lyrics are “pandering to females”. You can’t even compare Drake to Cole in this regard. Drake falls in love with a stripper or a dumb bitch every other song.
Half of Drake’s lyrics are speaking to women directly, I don’t get that from Cole. The biggest “love song” J. Cole has done is ‘In The Morning’ but how many other other female driven song has he done? We already spoke about Power Trip, which we can say was done for females with a twist. If you want to count ‘Wet Dreamz’, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ with Trey Songz, ‘Work Out’, ‘Nobody’s Perfect’, ‘Crooked Smile’. So 7 female targeting songs over the course of 3 albums and 3 mixtapes. Only a few of those could you consider love songs but anyway bro I really think you are blowing it out of proportion. You realize every one of those songs were singles right?
I get it though, you don’t like Cole but dude doesn’t do Marvin’s Room type records. A song like Crooked Smile has a great message that’s bigger than just trying to fuck some chick on your song. At the very least give Cole props for actually being creative with his messaging and how he puts his spin on these subjects.
