For some reason, I think Jidenna can be as big as Macklemore… no clue why I feel that way tho…

    1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

I see why you say that. He needs another record tho.

      1. Devin Middleton says:

did Yoga not fair too well?

        1. 400_Degreez says:

Yoga is on the Billboard 100… don’t fuck with that song tho

          1. Young Fry King says:

            Yoga is 82…not a hit

Classic man is 30.. #1 at rhythmic radio.. Is a hit

          2. 400_Degreez says:

It took Classic Man a long time to get there tho… Yoga might get up there… Let that bitch breathe lol

          3. Young Fry King says:

Lol… it’s not as good a song. it has had all the same opportunities.. shit just aint working

        2. mikedreams says:

“Yoga” is Janelle Monae’s record. It’s doing very well, though. I think that’s her highest selling hit of her career. But Jidenna needs another hot follow-up single to “Classic Man” to really solidify a position in the game.

      2. Young Fry King says:

Can you convince regular taylor swift loving white folks to buy into talented 10th bougie blackness though?

    2. marty mcfly says:

I would think he set his goals higher then Macklemore. Macklemore sold alot of records but a song like “Classic Man” is meant to be timeless. A generation from now, nobody is gonna be telling they kids hey go listen to Macklemore to get some jewels. I would hope Jidenna is thinking of other greats (Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Curtis Mayfield, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder etc…) before Macklemore.

      1. 400_Degreez says:

Oh I agree with you on that… But even with all that, I think he can still be as commercially successful as Macklemore… He’s got a look, sound, and personality that can lead to some serious numbers

        1. marty mcfly says:

Even on that level, I don’t think people should be trying to be as successful as Macklemore when they should be trying to go well beyond that. Is Macklemore hot right now? The support from gay people was cool but that has died down.

  2. Maddark says:

His smile is identical to drake’s smile.

    1. coco says:

      PAWS

  5. heez says:

Now this good fucking music nothing like the normal Maino nondescript nyc rappers that normally get posted here

  6. I'ma stick to the OG song FIRE says:

Kendrick lines were DOPE but they wasn’t CLASSY! He talking about EAT PUSSY and MURDER on a CLASSY SONG! I been LOVING this songs since I first heard last year it’s not NEW! K.DOT could of said some POWERFUL shit but he was just RAPPING! I’ll [ass!

    1. Even if she go way says:

      I’ll PASS not ass LOL

    2. marty mcfly says:

Kendrick said “I eat the pussy for my nourishment”… Now I know that sounds funny and you got niggas that front like they don’t eat pussy but believe it or not, there is a jewel there. PUSSY from a healthy female secrete sexual stimulus fluid that does contain the nutriments of life creation itself. Yes class, we can all make jokes cause I know it sounds funny however that fluid does have sustenance that is good for the body if the pussy your eating is on a healthy female. There are other little gems in this song as well but I’m just saying.

      1. I like the OG song Betta says:

I heard the gems too. but he lost me the same way he lost Janelle. Watch her in the video when Kendrick is rapping. she rapping his verse when he spitting jewels but when he start talking that crazy street shit watch her face. she stop rapping his verse lol

        1. marty mcfly says:

Thats fine, the song itself will last longer then the video in people’s mind and this is the remix. The original version doesn’t have the verse.

  7. MIKEY ESCO!!! says:

THAT BAMA FKD THE SONG UP SMH
    FK YO FEELINGS!!!

  8. Khaleel says:

I still can’t figure out if drake kendrick or future has won 2015.

    1. That nigga says:

      Drake: sales
      Kendrick: respect/acclaim
      Future: twitter

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

This equation is how it will always be. Drake will always sell more but Kendrick will always have more critical acclaim.

        1. marty mcfly says:

Thats cause Drake “critical acclaim” isn’t measured. His acclaim is in three genre’s of music, rap, R&B and Pop… If all his critical acclaim was put together it would be a high amount of critical acclaim. If his global acclaim was measured it would be even higher. The kinda critical acclaim he gets in Canada has got to be crazy. We’ll never know because we not in Canada checkin what they writing about him.

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

Well if Canadian hip hop sounds like R&B music you might be right but as far as actually rapping Kendricks albums will always be dominant in critical acclaim

          2. marty mcfly says:

Kendrick’s music has a bunch of R&B in it too. Drake does actually rap as well. Again, you say his music will be dominant in critical acclaim only cause you not checking what Drake’s critical acclaim is… Its alot but in regards to critical acclaim? Katy Perry and Taylor Swift gets about ten times the amount of critical acclaim as Kendrick does, that don’t really mean shit when the people writing about them really don’t have any other option but to say nice things. The people behind the critical acclaim of Kendrick don’t have a choice but to dick ride. Their job depends on it. If they say you know what, Kendrick aint really the lyrical miracle his fans make him out to be… Their write up won’t get published. At least not on any forum that matters. The critics go with the fan favorites because its all political and consumer driven. The checks that the people giving artists critical acclaim get are directly connecting to the interest of the people reading those articles based on what names they see on the cover pages. They have no choice but to give Kendrick critical acclaim unless they wanna lose numbers in sells which means they lose money.

          3. Iamstillmusic says:

Idk what you’re speaking of but as far as albums go, Kendrick just did a 3 peat for critically acclaimed albums. The only other person to do that is Kanye West.

          4. marty mcfly says:

The people giving him critical acclaim don’t have any other choice but to do that. Their paychecks depend on the interest level of consumers based upon the names they write about. No one’s gonna say they think the album is weak and still get they write up published when the platform is depending on people to keep reading their shit. Also you know critical acclaim is just somebody’s opinion right? Most of them giving Kendrick critical acclaim only listened to his album because its their job.

          5. Iamstillmusic says:

But if Drake gets critical acclaim it’s authentic right? Section 80, GKMC and TPAB all had crazy impact with or without reviews. No one would call Big Sean’s album a classic because of reviews because it wouldn’t be backed up. Kendrick on the other hand talks the talk and walks the walk. He’s competing with Kanye’s legacy

          6. marty mcfly says:

No, its because the people who give artists critical acclaim have a job to do. As far as Big Sean? If popular opinion was his album was classic? The writers would give it critical acclaim. Thats how it works. The writers go through what popular opinions are and the pick a writer who is aligned with that opinion even if thats not really what the person giving it critical acclaim really thinks. If somebody said Kendrick’s shit is cool but this nigga aint really all that… Their next publication would lose numbers, thus causing them to lose money. Also Kanye’s legacy is largely based on production value. His beats are alot better then Kendricks.

          7. Iamstillmusic says:

You can’t seriously be saying that every album review means nothing. Nobody had to tell me that Blueprint, or graduation or GRODT was a classic. Mind you every album is reviewed, literally every single album so you telling me that they “have to write it a certain way ” is ridiculous. Consumers know when a project is A1 solid and many people who write reviews have been doing so since the 90’s so I think their opinion is valid. And album wise Kanye West 3 peated with great albums, I haven’t even seen those reviews and so did Kendrick

          8. marty mcfly says:

FOH. When you got an artist with a bunch of dickriders saying everything he makes is classic, the critics writing for consumers who feel that way are gonna tell them what they wanna hear. Thats just good business sense. Yeah its niggas from the 90s era writing shit and in their mind they was probably like this shit light weight shit but they not gonna say that on the job where they get paid.

          9. Iamstillmusic says:

Nahh I just think people are losing sight of what hiphop is supposed to be. Singles and billboard records are cool, but great body’s of work is what hiphop stands for. And if what you’re saying is true, Drake should have the best reviews since he’s the most popular rapper but he doesn’t. Also according to what you’re saying there has never been a classic album because it will always be someone’s opinion no matter how you put it. Classics aren’t only based off of reviews but by the consumers and Kanye’s first 3 albums were classics no matter how you put it. Kendrick has done the same, I don’t know why that upsets you

          10. marty mcfly says:

The point is this, when you have fan favorites such as Kendrick, Cole and 50 Cent in 2003…. The critics are gonna go with popular opinion because they not gonna go against the grain even if they don’t agree with popular opinion. Drake is a singer first, alot of his hate comes from the fact he’s a singer but you haven’t read all his critical acclaim cause I doubt that you checkin what they say about him in Canada or on R&B forums… I aint talking about every classic, I’m talking about Kendrick Lamar and no, nobody who honestly doesn’t feel like his shit is that dope is gonna say that when he’s raps golden boy of the moment. They gonna act like the niggas has Slaughterhouse bars over the tracks meant for Detox even though its no where near anything like that. Peter Rosenberg from Hot 97 said Section 80 was classic the same day it came out? DICKRIDING. He said the same about GKMC and TPAB shortly after it came out… A bunch of people saying everything he makes is classic? Honestly I don’t think this generation even understands the concept of “classic”. The possibility of Kendrick first three albums all being classic a decade after they came out is probably 0 or 1%. As far as Kanye? He has great rap ability but what makes his albums classic is the SOUND, the production. Blueprint makes the SOUND of Kanye’s first three albums classic. Why? because its all about the SOUND of it and its effect on the game. Its because of the art of sampling which Hip Hop had been missing during the rise of trap music. Totally different circumstances then Kendrick. I can’t say if Kendrick’s albums are classic or not because I’m not into his music but I don’t care about whether there classic or not. That has NOTHING to do with what I’m saying. What I do know is when you have an artists like Kendrick Lamar who clearly is bringing views an attention to your publication and probably granted you interviews as well. The likeliness of anybody on the same publication saying anything that goes against the popular opinion is small. Especially when you got a bunch of dickriding claiming every project he makes is classic? Gtfoh

          11. Iamstillmusic says:

Well even if you hold elements of truth, critical acclaim is the only reason artists make music and if you say no review us credible then according to you no one has ever dropped a classic. There’s a little bit of politics in everything but you can’t completely disregard critics who do this for a living or else there should be no award shows, no album or movie ratings, it will always be subjective. It takes time to call an album a classic but everyone call the blueprint a classic record without even looking at acclaim. So if I was to check the acclaim more than likely it would be accurate

          12. tututhebadboy says:

All that is the same with Drake too tho. You jus kinda made that point like its not the same cases. Its jus as much their job to listen to Drake too & the same circumstances

    2. 400_Degreez says:

Its definitely set up for Drake… He’s got an album COMING… and his mixtape had more impact than all 3 of Future’s last tapes combined

    3. Deezel Washington says:

      street wise- future
      pop/billboard 100- drake
      rap/hiphop/industry-kendrick

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

Thank you! That’s exactly how it is. Future on the streets, Drake on billboards and Kendrick for hiphop

  9. SapToad says:

    1. 400_Degreez says:
