    Congratulations to J. Cole.

    J. Cole is by far the realist rapper of our generation! No gimmicks just straight soul music appealing to true Hiphop heads. Cole world.

  6. Kris Kompute says:

I remember a few years back someone asked Cole if he was going to perform arenas for his Born Sinner tour. He laughed and said “Naw, I ain’t there yet. Maybe one day.”

Dude is the epitome of middle-class hip hop and shows that true art will never die. For all of us who complain about trash rap (including myself), if you don’t support this man’s movement in some capacity you are a bigger part of the problem than the next young thug/future ever will be.

    Support good artists.

    1. Kingly_Caracter says:

The realest shit you eva wrote. Well said.

    2. Shock says:

I fucks Cole, I thought his FHD has been the second best album in the past two years, behind To Pimp A Butterfly. I fuck with Future too though. What I don’t understand is how one can be a true fan of the culture without understanding that there is room for conscious rap, street rap, club rap, trap rap, etc. I embrace both, and it is not a sin for someone to listen to conscious rap, and then turn on some Future at night. People who only listen to conscious/street stuff have no social life/girlfriend/hoes/wife or something.

      1. T says:

Let’s be honest conscious rap is almost the same as Blues Music in the since of being a art form that is being saved by a few artist…To be honest conscious rap has always seemed a bit forced to the slow minded folks, but always and forever embraced by people who appreciate music with substance… Just like TPAB should have sold more units first week but people said it was to “Preachy” which stands for to “conscious”… I like all genres of music, but conscious rap will never be praised, and I have grown to accept that as a fan of both conscious rap & turn up rap….

        1. Shock says:

TPAB was the number one country in the album for four weeks straight, and is the best reviewed album since 2010. Sounds like its celebrated to me.

          1. T says:

Celebrated by people like Ellen, white folks, and VERY FEW black folks; let’s be honest here most black folks did not like that album at all but loved Future’s DS2, that shows me that when you come off to preachy my generation tends to not listen, that’s a proven fact…. Reviews and still being played is two different things, celebrated albums are albums like GKMC that the younger generation will continue to play, but TPAB might not get that much play because it comes off as to soulful or preachy to SOME, that’s why I made the Blues Music comparison….

          2. Shock says:

Thats just your perception. Every hip hop publication gave it a damn near perfect score. And most white people are put off by its afrocentric messages…i.e. O’Reilly.

          3. T says:

Bad example “Bill O’Reilly” is a closeted racist, Ellen is a great example because see allowed K Dot a spot on her show to perform a Afrocentric driven messaged song in front of a almost all white audience, she also praised K Dot and let him give out TPAB to a all white audience… Delusional might not be the word but it shouldn’t be hard for you to admit BLACK FOLKS should have praised that album WAY MORE the same way they praised and quoted Future’s DS2… Isn’t it funny that Kendrick always get’s BIG LOOKS from white culture like TV shows, Award shows, Taylor Swift rapping every song word from word… You must not spend to much time on things like social media because the dumb shit people said about TPAB was ridiculous

          4. Shock says:

Social media isn’t a good representation of what people think. Tpab has sold four times the amount that Ds2 sold….That’s all whites? Alot of people on social media are trolls or teenagers. All my homies bump tpab, and I live in ga

          5. T says:

Maybe before social media “Social media isn’t a good representation of what people think” would have made since… You’re still missing the point I think, celebrated and how much albums you sell or two different things…. Future’s DS2 is being celebrated right now the kids love it, they go crazy at the shows word for word, they quote his lyrics all day long, the radio shows love, if you live in GA then you know the clubs play the shit out of Future’s records because it’s being CELEBRATED…. TPAB on the other hand didn’t move the kids of today’s Hip-Hop. Future’s DS2 will be played/talked about way more then TPAB, and I love TPAB… Kendrick wouldn’t have tweeted he was shocked LA didn’t support more if he felt like the album was being celebrated…. By the way that tweet was later deleted…

          6. Shock says:

yeah Future is the man in the clubs….but Kendrick is the man period. TPAB will be nominated for a Grammy and every other major award….Kendrick is on CNN doing interviews and on Ellen….I think you are confusing street popularity with overall popularity. TPAB will be named album of the year by every major hip hop publication. Thats real recognition. I would rather have the top selling album of the year, win a Grammy, and have every major hip hop critic name my album the best than get celebrated on Twitter and in the club. Thats just me though.

          7. T says:

When you here Kendrick shouting out Watts & Compton that let’s me know he does it for the streets where the real people live, his whole message has been to inspire people in the hods and streets not to inspire big outlets and win Grammy’s …. Kendrick want’s the people and the people are in the hoods around the world and right now in the Hood they celebrating that DS2 not TPAB

          8. marty mcfly says:

Ellen is one show, Kendrick has performed in front of many different crowds. We don’t know how “black folks” feel about the album because most of them will never be asked what their opinion about it is. Most of the black people who listen to that album are not commenting on music outside of their friends so they not gonna jump on Rap Radar and let everybody know how they felt about the album. That does not suggest they didn’t like it because they didn’t praise it. I heard way more black people talk about Kendrick’s album then Future.

          9. GetReal says:

I love Kendrick but stop being delusional interscope put the battery in his back and GAVE him those looks listen to “u” Kendrick knows that numbers lie and are inflated, hell on the first track, George says “are you really what they idolize” these big labels can make it to look like everyone is embracing you when in reality its just money being pumped in behind closed doors

          10. ilexx says:

I was watching them argue and it was interesting because they were just arguing about the differences in how each artist is marketed, that’s all.

Interscope will ALWAYS have their rappers in front of a newer more Caucasian audience because they know the importance crossing over has had on the global impact of their Hip Hip acts.

          11. Deezel Washington says:

what ive been writing on blogs for years literally ^^^^^

          12. marty mcfly says:

You can’t say most black people didn’t like the album unless you talk to most black people that heard the album which you have not.

          13. PREMERE says:

Not platinum though, at least cole went platinum…..

      2. Kris Kompute says:

Never said its a sin. When I workout, I’m bumping future, migos, Travis porter etc. But when they get put on a pedestal as the “hottest rapper out” or the radio just plays their shit, it fucks up black people thoughts/psyche and it misconstrues the non hip-hop heads perception of rap.

Like yesterday, there was a shooting outside of cole’s concert. Go read the comments on the abcnews coverage of the story. These people have no reference on Cole and what he stands for yet, they group him in with old death row and early 2000’s 50 cent. Why? Because the mass media plays young thug/future more than Kendrick/Cole.

        1. Shock says:

Future was the hottest out….because he put out three hot mixtapes in a span of 8 months. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn’t take away from anything that anyone else is doing….I would be a hater to discount his work ethic because he gets love for being hot. I agree that music can fuck up people’s perceptions….but thats the fault of parents and adult guidance. It never had that effect on me, because I had guidance, look to these guys purely for entertainment, and only judge based on if I like the music. If the media is doing that, then they are demonstrating their own ignorance and lack of education surrounding the matter…why should I care? His lyrics are a google away, if they are lumping him in with everyone else, then they already have a confirmation bias that isn’t going to be changed anytime soon.

          1. Kris Kompute says:

I agree, but it comes to a point in the circle of life where we have to take responsibility for the messages that are being distributed. I had male guidance too, but to the brother that didn’t, I can’t let him just listen to young thug and future.

Hov, Tupac, Biggie and even 50 raised a lot of niggas I know. They might not be able to admit it, but sometimes the most introspective convo that a fatherless black male will have about the black plight in America will come from a hip-hop song.

You obviously are intelligent and see the bigger picture. With privilege comes responsibility. It’s your responsibility to make sure as many fatherless black men know what you know before getting killed (figuratively and literally) by the system.

  13. Hussle says:

Such a beautiful thing, especially for hardcore Cole fans. To see the evolution from those Warm Up days. I know some of yall remember when he used to do uStream and shit…actually interacting with his fans. And to see him now in 2015….amazing!! #ColeWorld

    1. JReezy says:

You say that like he still doesn’t interact with his fans on a more personal level. The dude played his album at peoples’ house when they asked leading up to FHD’s release.

      1. Kris Kompute says:

Sounds like you’re just stretching to hate.

        1. JReezy says:

I don’t think you know what the fuck hating is. You new niggas is on a whole other realm of sensitive when pointing out how Cole is still interacting with fans on a personal level is “hate”.

          1. Kris Kompute says:

Buddy said when Cole used Ustream and congratulated Cole. Your negative ass decided to talk shit by saying “you act like he still don’t.” Any comment that start off with that is hating.

            Yousa hating ass bitch.

          2. JReezy says:

Excuse me if being called a hater by a dumb ass nigga doesn’t phase me.
