While we continue to hold our collective breath for Swish, Kanye uploaded two new tracks to hold us over. The first is an updated version of “Say You Will” featuring Caroline Shaw. The second is a cover of The Weeknd’s “Tell Your Friends”. Listen to the tracks here.

That Say You Will remake is fire tho. A1. The other is obviously just Kanye thinking of ideas for the song and mumbling ideas. All industry artists do that when their working on music, why he released it, Idk. But that first one just replaced the old one. Great musicianship
he just needs to drop the album already.
He’s hesitant bc as original as he is…he knows the terrain belongs to Drake, Kendrick, Cole and Future…everyone else is just a derivative of those acts or on some left of center stuff like Tyler.
I never thought I’d say it…but Drake is the Young King bc he makes the best SONGS. And what I mean by that is Ye needs to make a cohesive album…ala CD, LR or Graduation, even Yeezus.
Not just a collections of songs that have no meaning or theme.
The fact that he’s dropping these one-offs to keep the palates of his fans wet…shows he’s really searching for himself and a sound. (I might be reaching on the himself part…but def a song/theme).
He’ll still do his number because it’s Ye…but will it have staying power and stick?? TBD.

Kanye aint gotta be concerned with what Drake, Kendrick or Cole is doing… His fanbase has been solidified for a decade already. As long as College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation and MBDTF exists, Kanye will have no worries ever in the music business. This new shit sucks but Kanye can step on stage at any moment and do over an hour worth of classics so no artists could ever pose a threat to that.
Kanye DEFINITELY needs to be concerned with Drake…that’s his biggest competition. Kanye has CLASSICS and is a better ARTISTS…an all-time great..but i’m in the future/forecasting business, not the rearview/legacy business.
He definitely has a fan base and will sell AS I STATED…however, at this current juncture…it’s not even to be really be debated that Drake is more popular.
Drake is one of like 4-5 artists to even release a platinum album THIS year.
More importantly, off a throwaway mixtape that he only released ONE visual. And then turn around 6 months later and did a joint mixtape that went Gold in 2 weeks. Kanye ain’t doing that at this point. Now if he releases a record that has real heat behind it and if radio gets it jamming…he’ll do more his usual…400-500k…IF NOT…when he drops, he’ll sell between 250-350k MAYBE.
