This song is the outcome of an ongoing dialogue with musicians, activists, and teachers within our community in Seattle and beyond. Their work and engagement was essential to the creative process.

  1. Black Phillip says:

Macklemore the sorriest nigga in the rap game

      1. Black Phillip says:

No but he is always making a song to appeal to certain people. He makes a fag song to appeal to fags, he makes a black song to appeal to blacks, he makes a corny white song to appeal to corny middle class whites. He tries to hit every single fuckin demographic in every single album

        1. Peekay says:

          you’re mad because he’s smart

        2. diggz says:

Wow such hate in this comment. How are you any better? Jesus that’s fucking pathetic

        3. Rapidly says:

Hopping on the latest social trends … I’d believe him more if he was more consistent with his vision/mission. But maybe he’s just the general, social issue rapper. IDK.

          1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

um, he did this same song 10 years ago. But, whatever.

        4. @RAMBOHUSTLE says:

LOL!!! Isn’t that what Drake does with all his “Hip-Hop references” and “Houston” bullshit…garnering the sounds of every region for the progression of his own style?? Or are you just going to credit that to Q. Miller too? Just saying…this is a business.

    1. diggz says:

You mean the SMARTEST. go listen to Chief Kief about killing people instead you fucking loser.

    2. marty mcfly says:

He’s being genuine imo. In the song itself he’s saying he would be fake to write something that he’s not feeling so he’d rather rap about what he is feeling.

    3. The Ripper says:

You the sorriest dude on this fucking website!!! When I see you and your mother, I am gonna fuck her in front of your sorry ass!!!!

  2. Chronic says:

I respect what he was going for….but if he really meant any of it he’d put this album out for free to get his message out and not try to make money off it.

    1. Jake from State Farm says:

Valid point! I just feel like he’s constantly reaching for acceptance from the black community whereas artists like Eminem kept it 100 with lyricism and respecting he art form.

    2. Dashing28 says:

This song is available for free though…

      1. Chronic says:

Yea as promotion for the album it’s on that he’s gonna be selling

        1. Jake from State Farm says:

I’m saying? If he’s profiting from this then it negates the message IMO. He’s looking for a pat on the back for this. Remember the whole “posting his text to Kendrick” move? Same thing just different context. I know about the first version being out in ’05 and could care less

          1. Chronic says:

That’s how I feel. He could at least be truly genuine about it and not try to make money from it. But watch, it’s gonna be on the album.

    3. marty mcfly says:

I don’t know about that. When an author writes a book about an issue, people still have to pay for the book. If the book becomes a best seller and that author is able to make money then he should. That doesn’t take away from the message. An album cost ten dollars and one song costs one dollar. People should be supporting music with positive messages in it.

      1. Chronic says:

So he wrote a song about how his white privilege got him ahead in the rap game. But him making money off white people buying that message isn’t contradictory in any way to you???

        1. diggz says:

Lol you hate Macklemore for no reason

    4. Kris Kompute says:

Did you not just listen to the song for free?

      …………….

      1. Chronic says:

As promotion for the album that it’s going to be on

        1. Kris Kompute says:

It’s available. For free. On iTunes…

You Bitches bitch just to bitch.

  3. RightHook says:

This was good. musically and for the ideology behind the music. But I’m sure people will find a way to diss it. Actually listen to the song before you comment on it.

    1. White Person says:

No shade but as a white person I say Mack should stay in his own lane. Let the black community handle their own business and bring their own awareness. If he wants to help, release this record and donate the proceeds to help spread the message. If not, then release it for free because making a profit from a message is a double standard.

      1. RightHook says:

no diss to you, but your proving his point , and the overall point. You feel as a “white person” that he should let the black community handle their own business… if people are being unfairly treated what does it matter who speaks on it? The fact that he is white speaking on “white privilege” is exactly the demographic that should be speaking on/adding to this issue. and giving money to whom to then spread what message? him being a GRAMMY award winning artist and putting out this song is spreading the message. Black people don’t need a white savior, but what appears to be a genuine song about race is a good thing. oh yeah and why do you need to point out your white? lets stop being divisive, your white but knowing right from wrong is colorless, so if you see any race being treated unfairly you can speak on it, regardless if your “white” or any other color for that matter.

        1. White Person says:

But when a white person extends their they get hit the “What you know about this?” or “You wouldn’t understand!” or “How are you going to make things better, whiteboy?” type stuff? I see it firsthand all of the time. You’re totally missing my point! If he’s MAKING a profit off of this message then what’s the point? It makes white people look even worse wouldn’t you think?

          1. RightHook says:

i get your point and i understand…but a couple of things…. 1. On the Google Play store , this song is a free download as of right now. 2… i honestly don’t care if he sells it for profit, the moral of the song still remains. And honestly if was to sell a lot who would be buying it? mainly Caucasians? i dunno honestly. But i dont have a problem with a good song like this selling alot. Truth is , yes all of the things you stated have been said, but in the big scheme of things those statements aren’t as bad as actual discrimination and racial injustice, so white people being told that by people who feel that way isn’t the end of the world. Now yes, hopefully one day those things wont be said so we can have unity but police are still killing people of color , courts are still sentencing unfairly and a long list of other racial issues stand…that’s why you still have people saying those statements you listed….this song at least acknowledges it.

          2. White Person says:

            Word! I can dig it.

          3. White Person says:

I agree with any positive message that isn’t out to make a profit. If he really means what he says and it’s not a ploy to gain acceptance then I am all for it. But first it was the “When I was a kid I thought I was gay” record then it was that horrible attempt to fit in “Downtown” record etc but what really set me off was the whole “screenshot my message to Kendrick on social media” fiasco. That was super lame. I guess the kid comes across mad corny to me in every way? Maybe it’s my initial discontent for him that makes me immediately dismiss anything he has to say. I can admit that

          4. diggz says:

horrible attempt but yet the downtown song has 7.5 mil listens on spotify not counting youtube. And the “gay” song won a grammy. Good logic though ..not

          5. marty mcfly says:

Lemme just say this because people on Rap Radar think I hate white people (and I find it funny they do) because I tend to bring up historical facts and make generalizations about white people (because they tend to make generalizations about my people) and yes I call the white man a devil, and no I do NOT wanna unite with white people and even though I agree with Macklemore I don’t need him to fight issues for my people but I appreciate the honesty…

My point is this, on two separate occasions I prevented two different white boys from catching an ass whooping in my neighborhood. Why? Because RIGHT is right and WRONG is wrong period. Regardless of how I feel about the racial issue and beside the fact that I’m not obligated to help any white person thats about to get beat down, there comes a point where as a human, one has to stand up and say there is a problem here and it needs to be corrected for the sake of just being the right thing to do.

Now as far as this song from Macklemore, again as a black man I agree with him and appreciate the song but the song imo does not mean black people should let their guard down or just automatically trust any white people claiming to be sympathetic to the injustices facing black people. When “the enemy” wants to try and deactivate the people, they’ll send in some white people (and black) that pretend to have good intentions towards the people when in reality their gathering intelligence on people and taking names and information.

As black people we can not expect or trust that white people are gonna fight our battles because at some point it makes no sense to do that and their only gonna go so far. If the situation turns violent? They are gonna separate themselves from black people and just watch on the sidelines. If white people wanna help so bad, they are in position to get right in the face of the racism thats been imposed on black people from the start but its not necessary to come among black people and lock arms as if your black yourself. For those that wanna do such? Fine but don’t take it personal when black people look at you like wtf you doing here? because under the circumstance that kinda reaction to a white presence makes sense. If white people showed up on a reservation to fight for the rights of Native americans? They would look at those white people with suspicions. Why? because Native americans been oppressed as a people so what is it now that makes white people wanna jump up and fight on their behalf?

If your white and you wanna fight on behalf of black people then you have to do that on behalf of your own heart telling you what’s right and what’s wrong. This brings me back to the point I made earlier about me stepping on two separate occasions to stop a white boy from getting their ass beat by some young Gs in the streets. I didn’t need any thank you for it even though a thanks was given and me doing that does not suggest I somehow wanna be friends with those crackers cause I don’t. I only stepped in because it was the right thing to do but I don’t expect a thank you from white people.

Peace to Mackelmore because he’s in a position to speak to his own race in a way that I never could because he will be seen as one of them and for that I don’t recognize his courage and artistic integrity but the fight against racism and white supremacy is a fight that my people are gonna have to fight ourselves and ultimately win.

          6. Jim says:

how did you stop anyone from getting a beatdown OUTSIDE when you’re constantly sat writing paragraph after paragraph of drivel on this site???

        1. White Person says:

You work for his street team or something? You’re going at everyone who doesn’t agree with it? We all have our own opinions. Leave it at that. If you profit from a message then that message is negated IMO!

          1. diggz says:

U A HATING ASS SO YEA.. OK BUDDY

          2. diggz says:

Opinions on the song, obviously I respect. But just hating for no fucking reason you gonna get called out on. Calling him a culture vulture when he comes out with a song like this with plenty of black peeps in and behind the song you gonna get called out on

      2. GetReal says:

he should not rap then for that matter since we made that, matter fact he shouldn’t even do music since we created most of what you hear today (by your logic)

  4. noguv says:

this is pretty good! whats good with all the hate

    1. diggz says:

Cause it’s Mack. You know people are going to hate. This dude is mad talented anyone hating can go fuck themselves.

      1. Jay says:

“Cause it’s Mack.” Why say that? I’ll tell you why. Because he’s been wack since day one and you seem to be the only person on here who’s going ham about it? It’s not the message but him as an artist. He’s corny and only touches on these subjects to sell records. i.e. “Same Love” etc. He went full retard last year by posting a personal text to Kendrick for public acceptance. Have you seen him and Ryan Lewis at any marches or BLM rallies? Nope!

        1. Kingly_Caracter says:

Out of all his consistence on real topics. This is what you take away??? It’s YOU who NEEDS to believe that he’s fake. Under what grounds do you disqualify him from meaning what he says? I sure as hell can’t vouch for or against him. But his actions say yes… And his success tho aided by this complexion, is still attributed to raw talent. What you’re talking about is preference. One that several million people don’t give a fuck about. Bitter ass… Research before you speak brother.

          He marched…
          http://www.inquisitr.com/1637637/macklemore-on-the-front-line-rapper-marched-in-seattles-ferguson-verdict-protest/

        2. Donn says:

He was at one of the rallies but I see what u saying. I agree. He does so things for attention. Like he knew ppl would click on this and every white person will use this as a poster to say see we care and acknowledge our privilege. He’s the spokesperson for white guilt

          1. diggz says:

HOW MANY RALLIES YOU BEEN TO FUCK BOY?

          2. Jay says:

So you’re basically contradicting yourself right now by fighting us with HATE?! you lost one right there! All I’m getting from you is that you’re the president of his fan club the way that you’re screaming on people? Listen, you’re obviously white and I’m glad that you care, but pump the brakes. Go take a nap and settle down.

          3. diggz says:

just sayin you came in here like you holier than thou but you aint shit lol

        3. diggz says:

Then again, the message is on point, the bars are on point, and the delivery is sharp.”

  5. Jazz June says:

    You can’t hate on this

  6. dmc says:

    That second verse..spaaaaazed

  7. DoughboyToad says:

Mack need to shut the fuck up no one cares about your pity so what you stole and rob Korn Row Kenny own your shit, be proud that you are white Mack.

    1. diggz says:

Except for millions of his fans numbnuts. Problem is you will never have fans. Shit you probably don’t even have friends.

      1. DoughboyToad says:

Dafuq u talking about sir Mack been on this tirade for three years we get it your white and you have privilege from black music we get it.

        1. diggz says:

          I’m not black or white

  8. el jim chapo guzman says:

the lazy ignorant black entitlement population should be grateful to the hardworking educated taxpaying white privileged people because it is those people who work and pay for your handouts.
White privilege pays for the black entitlements idiots be thankful for it…..

    1. ilexx says:

So what ethnic group do you associate with? Who paid for your fucking handout?

You are a deplorable human being dawg, its disgusting and pathetic that you have to come on here and spew your inner hate because nobody else wants to hear it. “The lazy ignorant black entitlement population”, please fuck off. Who the fuck are you to speak on anybody being lazy? You spend more fucking time on this website than the moderators and bloggers. They have several people who make posts daily and you are on every single one of their posts with a comment, you are a certified bum whose highlight of their day is gaining attention on a Hip Hop blog comment section. Congratulations you fucking bum, you got somebody’s attention but you are still a little piece of shit at the bottom of the toilet bowl.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

How can you compare apples and oranges and claim they taste the same? This isn’t Australia, it’s the USA. Americans of African ancestry are not indigenous to America. Their ancestors were sold as commodities by their peers in Africa and brought to America as slave laborers. Since then, their societal and economic status, and lifestyle have paralleled that of their countrymen whose ancestors came predominantly from the European continent. Today, just as there are rich and poor whites, there are rich and poor blacks. More recently, some of them have attained super rich, super star status, and high political office – the highest in our nation. Go ask Oprah if she wants to leave her fortune behind and go back to live in Africa where the big white devil has no influence..

        1. marty mcfly says:

People of african ancestry are far more “indigenous” to america then any europeans are. Africans were coming to america a millennium before people in Europe made their first boat. There is record of this, there are maps, cultural evidence, trade agreements between ancient indigenous people here with people back in Africa. Africa claimed land here in america a thousand years before any Christopher Columbus showed up. African people have more to claim over america then anybody from Europe does. Ancient Africans were respected and accepted by ancient peoples of america and they worked hand and hand for centuries. The culture, the pyramidal structures and the evidence of such relationship is there its just europeans don’t want black people to find that out.

Dr. Ivan Van Sertima – They Came Before Columbus…

          1. el jim chapo guzman says:

my point is that the black Americans today whose ancestors came from Africa as slaves have much more opportunity and higher standard of living here than they would if they had stayed in their homeland the same for many Europeans also. Yet some African Americans today act like it’s the societal injustice of white men keeping them down, when in fact it was the white men who valued liberty, risked their lives and drafted the Declaration/constitution which gives us the ability to afford better opportunities today

          2. marty mcfly says:

Thats not true either. The reason why people in america believe black people are better off in america as far as “standard of living” is concerned? Is because thats what’s taught in america. Its taught that the whole continent of Africa is in the worst conditions on earth and there’s reasons for that… Africa also has a “standard of living” in many areas where people live and do the same things that people in america do. Work, chill, go to the mall, movies Mcdonalds etc… Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, Egypt, Johannesburg, Ethiopia, Samolia, Uganda, Bukina Faso, Cameroon, Lesotho, Gambia, Tunisia, Ghana, Sudan, Burundi, Senegal, Gabon, Algiers, Congo, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Tanzania… North, south, east and west there are locations with major cites, infrastructure and housing with a “standard of living” comparable to anywhere else you wanna say is the “standard”.

This will never be presented in america because as long as Africa is seen as the worst place on earth then that works in other countries favor so they can continue to pick Africa apart for resources and continue to sponsor warlords that do their dirty work for money. There are millions of Africans that did not become slaves and did not fall victim to warfare and lived out there life as free people so how the fuck you gonna say they woulda been better off as slaves? Its not that the white men valued “liberty” they valued money so along with that came aspects of liberty in terms of control over america. Africa had a value system is place before money, Europe did not.

Now in history, whites are described as fighting for all that is good and also on behalf of black people to have better lives? Thats false, white men were fighting for money, goods and economic and political status so don’t get it twisted. Now today in schools slavery is described as a migration for job opportunities for black people? And the conditions of slavery have been whitewashed to make it appear as if white people were doing Africans a favor by enslaving them? No. The reason you worship at the feet of white people is because they haven’t told you anything negative about their true history so you look at them as angels when their history would be closer to that of demons.

When Europeans started showing up in Africa, the people of Africa already had a long history going further back for them then the time of Europeans history to today. They had a governing system, they had civilization, orders of operation, customs, traditions, culture, languages, spirituality, etc… All of which the european had none of because there is no trace of such things anywhere in ancient times in europe. So the notion that white people were like the great saviors of africans is false.

          3. diggz says:

Wow this is a deep convo. This is why this song is so great. It brings up convos like this. Props

          4. marty mcfly says:

Africans did not “come as slaves”, they were forced into slavery. Africans had a history in Africa before slavery…

        2. marty mcfly says:

In Oprah’s case she’s still making her fortune in america but she has been to African many times, she’s spoke on Africa many times, she has money over there in African and in her home she has African culture and she has a list of the names of slaves going back centuries in which she acknowledges a different name everyday and thanks them for their strength and sacrifice.

          1. el jim chapo guzman says:

            now you fabricating.

        3. ilexx says:

I really dont know what you are rambling about, why does anybody need to leave their fortune behind? Who is talking about moving back to Africa?

I had a problem with your original statement, which I see you changed, not that what you changed it to is much better. Just stop speaking down on people, cut the condescending bullshit. You are saying white privilege pays for black entitlement, then proceed to call blacks idiots. You are mad disrespectful. Firstly you arent white so you don’t benefit from white privilege, you obviously aren’t black but yet you like to speak on what black ppl should do, think or be thankful for on a daily basis, what are you if not apart of the problem?

      2. Room 222 says:

That fool is Haitian, he can’t do shit about the situation in his home country which is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere but always criticizes Black Americans.

  9. Upheaval says:

This self-hating dweeb is always grovelling at the feet of black people.

Always crying & begging for our acceptance & forgiveness.

You’ve done nothing to me Macklemore!

    Now go the fuck way!

    1. diggz says:

      lol such a ignorant comment.

      1. Upheaval says:

You don’t know what that word means

    2. diggz says:

you’re comment is fukin retarted. You sound like you are a racist black guy who hates white people fuck off

      1. Upheaval says:

It’s scary how dumb you are.

I criticised Macklemore for pandering to racist black people… so that must mean I hate white people?

        WHAT??

  10. Johnny Ryall says:

if you can hate on this hate is probably a big issue for you but “language of my world” is one of the best hip-hip albums (not rap albums) of 2000-2010… I’m dead ass listen to it.

  11. diggz says:

Holy FUK this is good. Jezus this shit is insane. Anyone hating on this has hate in their blood. That first verse! Didn’t even get to verse 2 yet.

  12. this shit went hard af…

    no actual replay value though.

    1. diggz says:

I was thinking the same thing. Cause of the segments probably but man that shit is good. Good start off of the cd though.

      1. diggz says:

I take this back was just as good if not better the second time. Thank you Mack

        1. maybe i’ll give it a few more weeks before i listen to it again.

  13. yorapper says:

This isn’t a song, this is an experience.

    1. I called Mack would drop a song like this a while back check my disqus.
    2. 2nd and 3rd verse are fire.
    3. Mack is doing what Kendrick and Cole haven’t been able to execute that well – intelligently talk about social issues while injecting their own unique personal struggle in a universal way.
    4. This is how you make an 8 minute song.

    1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

      *hand clap*

    2. marty mcfly says:

Kendrick did have Blacker The Berry though. If you like this song more that doesn’t mean that Kendrick didn’t deliver with his song.

      1. Idiots says:

U finally said something positive about Kendrick lol thought u were a hater

        1. marty mcfly says:

I said a bunch of positive shit about Kendrick but people have selective reading or some shit.

      2. yorapper says:

Good point. But I think Mack’s song will reach the white people that need to hear this message just like Mack’s gay song helped homophobes see things from another perspective. No white dudes heard “black the berry” and were like, “man I never knew black people had it so bad! im gonna check my white privledge at the door.”

        1. marty mcfly says:

If Mackelmore reaches more people because he’s white, that doesn’t take anything away from Kendrick.

    3. Sean Power says:

you forgot J.cole performance on the tonight show ? he got his message and didn’t put out as single to sell his album

      1. diggz says:

Maybe he should have then? But he still isn’t going to do Macklemore numbers.

      2. yorapper says:

Huh? This song is free on iTunes. I dont see your point. Rappers make songs with no message for profit every day, what’s so bad about making a song with a message for profit? Under your logic, if Cole was so righteous he should give away his whole album for free as well as do all free shows.

    4. DoughboyToad says:

      3. Mack is doing what Kendrick and Cole haven’t been able to execute that well – intelligently talk about social issues while injecting their own unique personal struggle in a universal way. Clearly u havent; heard TPAB

    5. Jimmy says:

Please don’t compare Kendrick to this corny dude Mackelmore. TPAB and GKMC both intelligently addressed social issues. This song is trash and I would never listen to it. Oh yeah white people whining about how good they have it is very fucking annoying.

  14. Captain Jack says:

Soccer mom’s are gonna be pissed Macklemore!

  15. Carl Vegas says:

No secret I am not a Macklemore fan. But I can respect this.

  16. hiphop1 says:

Substance on substance good record man .

  17. Dashing28 says:

This is so interesting. People don’t know how to react to this record……..

Like it’s Macklemore who’s cornball so I GOTTA hate on it.

Then again, the message is on point, the bars are on point, and the delivery is sharp.

But Macklemore is just dickriding a moment trying to steal shine

Then again, this is part 2 of a song he released over a decade ago before it was trendy.

But even the idea of Macklemore making a record that speaks on black injustice and it garnering the kind of attention that Talib Kweli, Killer Mike, Immortal Technique and others would never receive is deeply problematic.

Then again, isn’t that point of the record?

    2. yorapper says:

Yup. The song is basically about how Mack isn’t supposed to speak on black lives matter.

It’s not fair that he will be rewarded for saying something that black people have been saying for years.

    1. Kris Kompute says:

I can’t think of one black rapper who has made a song about white soccer Mom’s coming up to them and saying that they only let their kids listen to their music because he is white.

      1. Jimmy says:

WIll Smith has said similar things.. not the white part but the fact that he was seen as a “positive” rapper.

  26. Home Of Philly says:

I don’t really like Macklemore. I even brought his album and gave it one good spin before it was filed away as “tried and failed” but this record really makes me think about all the artist who are in heavy rotation in my iPhone daily (Drake, Ye, Jay, YG, Meek, Rozay, Jeezy, Fab, K. Dot, Boogie, PnB Rock, and the list goes on) that don’t speak on current events. Don’t get me wrong, I love their content but why don’t we hold them accountable to have more music like this?

Even if it’s a song that gets thrown up on Sound Cloud and never makes the album. Their voices are so big that it could really have an impact but they choose to be silent. Why is this acceptable?

    1. marty mcfly says:

Some of the artists you named do speak on these issues but I think if they did all the time it would be a new situation every week, They’d have 50 different songs all addressing the same systemic problems because the shit is non stop. In the B Sides concert freestyle Jay said

“Let them continue choking niggas, we gonna turn style, I aint your token nigga”…

He talking about retaliation on police. Eye for an eye, murder for murder…. which is true justice as far as I’m concerned but some shit is too real for niggas so you gotta space the shit out. At the end of the day some of the rappers is speaking on shit but its only so much rapping a nigga can do. Its time for people to ACT on shit not just listen to the rhyme.

      1. Home Of Philly says:

Yeah I should’ve clarified that all though a few of em (K. Dot, Cole) speak on it a lot it deserves a larger platform.

Sometimes songs all more than just rhymes and rhythms that you listen to. They are key points of motivation for instants Drake’s Successful, Meek’s Get Dis Money, and Colel’s Premeditated Murder + Higher literally push me through college. Those were my catalyst for action.

Imagine if we got more songs like this one that were well-crafted and articulate enough to resonate with the masses. This may encourage more people into action, encourage more people to do positive great things for that matter.

  30. Peter Kushing says:

Fuck Wacklamore. So tired of this racism bullshit. It will ALWAYS be around in some capacity for blacks, whites, and everyone else. Get over it. It’s unbelievable that in 2016 your ethnicity places some sort of value on college exams. It can help you if you are a minority or hurt you if you’re some wasp muthafucka. Brothers still tryin to get paid off the government and play xbox all day instead of going to college. It will still be like this 100 years from now

    1. marty mcfly says:

What “racism” do white people face? There is a reason why race is a factor in college institutions and its not because their so accepting of black people applying to go to their schools. Its still WAY more likely that a white kid will get accepted before a black kid. On top of that there are more black men with college degrees out here then probably any other time in history but the assumption is they just wanna play xbox all day and get a few pennies from the government.

      1. Peter Kushing says:

Minorities are being chosen over white folks more and more for jobs because companies are required to by law, to be equal. They could give a fuck about qualifications. I’ve seen it for myself at a security company I worked for, along with my cousin being told at U of M by a counselor that minorities get more opportunities and points based on ethnicity.

        1. marty mcfly says:

Its not more likely? So you think I’m just making it up? You think colleges would make racial considerations just because they woke up one day and felt like it? Comeonnow.

White people are NOT being chosen more and more for jobs because companies are required by law. You can look at the gap in economics between black people and white people and clearly see which of the two is bringing in more money and getting hired alot more.

Now when you talk about jobs being forced to hire black people? How many white people are already working there before the first black person walks in? And if the job does NOT hire a black person? Who’s gonna force them too? Its companies that don’t give a fuck about whatever racial requirement or consideration is in the law, why? because there’s nobody to enforce that if a company chooses not to follow it.

Now who are the ones that started making these kinda exceptions in the job market in america? You think black people made these laws? Or white people? But again these kinda considerations didn’t just come about because one day colleges and jobs just needed something new to do? they came about because there was indeed discrimination in the system that needed to be addressed. You say racism will ALWAYS be here? Ok then it should AWLAYS be fought against. I’m sure doctors believe cancer will ALWAYS be here, but they not gonna just stop fighting it.

          1. Peter Kushing says:

Colleges are pullin that shit because of the NAACP and other groups. All I’m sayin is this shit is gonna backfire because they’re pushing dumb muthafuckas through school and college and then pushing them into jobs they might not be qualified for. Same shit with the Oscars and all that dumb shit. Just because a brother ain’t nominated for shit or whatever now everybody a racist. Just cause somebody’s black or white n made a movie, doesn’t mean they deserve an Oscar. You don’t hear Juicy J or DJ Paul hatin on the Oscars.

          2. marty mcfly says:

Why are colleges “pulling the shit”? To combat a problem you think never existed? Now your saying their pushing jobs to people that aint qualified so I guess you mean stupid black people right? So how many white people are also working in those jobs? Are they smarter then those black people? You think its more black people being placed in jobs then white people? Do they hold the same kinda positions? What your trying to do is make it seem as if the college system and the job markets work in favor for black people over white people? Well the economics don’t show that at all, in fact it shows white people make considerably more money then black people and are hired at a considerably higher rate the black people. So how are you suggesting that jobs are favoring black people over white people when no where in ANY area of economics between black people and white people there is any evidence of that?

          3. marty mcfly says:

You said they push dumb mothafuckas (black people) into jobs they might not be qualified for? My question is do they push 20 TIMES more dumb white people that might not be qualified into those jobs then black people? To colleges also push their white students into jobs? At a rate much higher then black students? I’ll answer for you. YES. Why? because these racial issues only pop up because of the evidence of the existence of such problems.

See what your doing like many others do is suggest that systemic racial inequality really doesn’t exit and that what people like myself are doing is talking about a make believe fantasy that isn’t real? No. Its very real. The NAACP would not exist if there wasn’t reasons why they do.

  31. Jimmy says:

Boo hoo I’m white and have privilege let me make an 8 minute song to cry about it.

  32. GetReal says:

macklemore got the exact response he was looking for out of me with this one

  33. Brian Canady says:

how this song be rated by 22 people and only be a 3.6 my goodness i wonder what kind of music the folks are listening to these days when this song should be moving peoples way of thinking to the positive side. Love the song macklemore definite need for open discussion.
