Max B’s making waves again. Following Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa’s exchange over the Waves album title, The Breakfast Club got Max B on the phone this morning to weigh in on the controversy.
Before being sentenced to 75 years in prison, Max is credited for coining all things “Wave” related. During their chat, he says he’s flattered by Ye’s gesture and praises Wiz. He also encourages everyone to sign his petition, which you can do here.

Im not even gonna be on no fake shit and say I was fucking with Max music when he was free. As a native NY-er i just never got into him. But i keep hearing people big him up, so i guess I have to go do my research.
But i read an article on his case and it seems like he got a raw deal.
Allegedly he wasnt even at the scene of the crime and he got 75 years which is crazy. Hope the truth comes out soon.

It’d be best to judge him off of the quality music he helped craft for Jim Jones. “We Fly High” and “Gs Up” notably. His recordings are very low-quality, but he was definitely ushering in a wave of melodic music before it became a true staple in Hip Hop.
